I think the Jazz had enough to keep one or two games close but never had enough to endanger the series. Favors was pretty good this game.
I don’t care who they give it to. I’m just saying that Mitchell is not “the guy” like the Jazz faithful seem to think. Damned good player, but this league is full of damned good players.
I think they are on the verge of giving up, IMO. They might make a stand but they were shooting 29% from 3. Unless they shoot over 36% from three ball, they are not coming close. This was by far the best D I have seen from them, and they were only up single digits at best.
He hit a big 3 with Rockets up 4 just minutes prior to that. He had made four 3s in the game before that. He is their best player. He is a perimeter player with a 36.2% 3 point FG percentage. And you dont want him taking that last shot?
Or the Jazz suck really bad. They shot below 30% form the 3, despite us giving them plenty of open looks, and about 65% from the FT. A more apt offensive team would have won against us tonight.
agreed that he’s not “the guy”...if he’s your 1st option your ceiling in the playoffs is quite low he is just a 2nd year guy tho so maybe he develops into that in the next few years...fortunately for us, he’s the best they got
Those jazz shooters shot a lot better in the regular season . Maybe it's a small sample size in the playoffs. Maybe those guys can't handle the intensity and so their shooting has slipped . Maybe other things are going on , I think ingles shot well at the beginning of the year and then had some injury problems. Looking at their roster compared to last year it seems that they lost burks and exum from last year's playoff roster . But those guys are role players at best and rivers off our bench would counter them pretty well . They definitely blew a lot of open looks tonight . We (harden) blew looks of our own lol . They aren't a top tier offensive team . But it looks like they are ranked 15 in Offensive rating . And they are 9th and 10th in 3 point attempts and 3 point percentage respectively. It could just be off nights , but who knows . I don't think they are that bad . They are limited by having only 1 really good dual scoring/distributing option ; but the rockets had that same problem in 2016-17 and you wouldn't call us trash on offense
Anybody have a pic of that rockets fan wearing beard 13 red jersey standing on utah jazz logo outside their stadium? Its in between halftime break. I need it to mock the J$%holes fan on sm.
People bashing Mitchell are just spoiled by how good Harden is, and probably use Harden as a measuring stick by which all other SGs are measured. Mitchell (and Jayson Tatum, who also hit a sophomore wall) are both still young, still developing and still going to be big time when they reach their prime.
doubt anyone is using Harden as a measuring stick...Harden is an all-time great Can Mitchell be a superstar? Can he be a top 10-15 player? Or will he be a guy who puts up nice scoring numbers on mediocre efficiency while providing decent playmaking? Those are the questions people are asking.
