Again......... can someone explain to me why James Harden isn't the MVP?

All these "experts", now that the voting is done are saying things like this......... and he still isn't MVP.

I'm still convinced there was a preseason memo telling all the media types to get behind Giannis this season.

Nothing against the guy, but I'm glad Harden won last year. Otherwise he'd be the Buffalo Bills of MVP. 2nd. 2nd. 2nd. 2nd........

Harden playing basketball in 5 dimensions? How many dimensions is Giannis working with?

Unassisted dunks trumps all other dimensions

It's fascinating to see the commentary and how it changes when the media is "actually" watching James Harden play instead of watching/following narratives from youtube, twitter and instagram. Now they see the same things we've been defending all season! He's unguardable! The free throws?? It's real quiet out here...lolol The same talking heads (not Legler) that don't watch games are puzzled, but instead of admitting they were wrong they just double down on dumb. They won't praise or give James credit, just spend the segments giving advise on HOW to stop James or what the opposition needs to do to basically put James back into their narrative boxes. These so called "experts" are feeding other fans who don't watch games.

So let's say it louder for the slow folks....

If you don't foul him, he creates havoc and flirts/gets 30point triple doubles ....rockets beat you soundly

You foul him, he creates havoc and scores 40 to 50+ and chances are high that you still loose.

Pick your punch and drink it

If i am a opposing coach i foul him a lot and hope the refs dont call the fouls... thats the best strategy...

Clearly, a hell of a lot of fouls on James aren't called. If that's the best strategy, it didn't work in game 1 and game 2. ;-)

    Depends on the ref tho.

If it's a ref that will allow light contact on the perimeter and such, just constant pressure and physicality can work to tire harden.

But if the refs are calling it tight and have a liberal whistle, it breaks down quik...

Worked in that game against GS in the WCF with Harden's favorite ref overseeing. Three point shot, dude stands in his space so he can't land without twisting an ankle, TWICE he doesn't get free throws, with Reggie Miller and Chris Webber bellowing, "How is that not a foul?" And the three pointer that was taken away even though Harden had already shot it before his teammate was called for a foul under the basket.

But, hey, I'm just being a homer.

There’s absolutely nothing James Harden cannot do on the basketball court

The amount of growth to not only Harden's game, but also from a mental and physical stand point is so far superior to anyone in this league right now that it's not even debatable.

The biggest part of Harden's step back 3's and floaters is the fact that it neutralizesthe REFS (for the most part) from screwing him over.

In years past, Harden would attempt to get the same calls in the paint as in the regular season - time and time again, this failed. Why was he burned out in the playoffs - cuz his body would take a ridiculous amount of beating without reaping the benefits from the FT line - the SAS series comes to mind.

This year, he adjusted. He's just gonna shoot the 3 to death or light you up with the floater or lob. When he drives into the lane, his purpose is no longer to get fouled. It's either lob or floater. If there's a clear lane for a layup, that's coming too. So now, not only is he no longer taking that beating he was in previous years, but sure as hell looks like he's working twice as hard off the court as well.
