That crowd was buzzing something serious. Best crowd I’ve seen in this years playoffs.

We did what we were supposed to do...as a championship contender. The Rockets could have named the score...without the standard issue NBA refs doing their thing.

    Sweep coming.

Can't get cocky, we can lose focus at times and play careless.

I think the game plan is there just have to execute. Stick to their bodies on defense, no lobs.

This series will depend on role players and Chris Paul making shots, Harden will do his thing regsrdless

Was reading the Jazz forums, mostly garbage and in fighting, which made the read worthwhile, but then I stumbled onto this:

Utah had a lot of dumb turnovers - if they can clean those up it'll keep them more competitive at least, especially if they can get Mitchell going. OTOH, Rubio probably won't shoot that well too often... I really liked that the Rockets generally did a good job of chasing guys like Ingles off the 3pt. line. If guys make their living by taking 3's...don't let them do that.

It's just funny to look at our bench last night and our Game 7 vs Warriors bench:

Rockets bench last year in Game 7 vs Warriors:
Gerald Green, Ryan Anderson, and Joe Johnson (lol)

    Rockets bench yesterday:
Gerald Green, Danuel House, Austin Rivers, Kenneth Faried, Nene Hilario, Iman Shumpert

How is it even a contest? We're much better than last year, and it's because of the bench in addition to Harden improving even more.

Chris Paul leading the 2nd unit is what blew the game open when it looked like they were making a comeback. We are scary good and we can sustain elite play for 48 minutes because of this bench.

What does this series of numbers represent?

    22

    18
    17
    16
    16
    12

    18
    12
    23
    20

    18

Number of Utah turnovers in each game, since we benched Ryan Anderson, which is the 22 top number. The list includes playoff games.

We can no longer say Utah is having stupid turnovers ... Utah simply doesn’t have the personnel to run their offense against our switching defense without becoming careless. We kill their motion. And Utah forces their PnR with bad timing slips.

Excellent post. I also think part of it is the Denver effect. They know we are King Kong and they cannot keep up with us. They try to maximize their weak lineup around Mitchell, Ingles, Rubio, and Crowder with Gobert but if they are not hitting shots they tend to get out of rhythm and get torched on the other end. The Utah fan was right that they simply don't have the firepower and the switching is lethal to them. They have literally no mismatches against us. I also love all of the stupid ESPN and pundit articles about the perfect defense against Harden. The mistake isn't letting Harden go left, it's letting him touch the ball in the first place.

Were they early? Or did they think the game was the normal 7pm start time and they just so happened to be "on time"? :p

I'm fine with the TC crowd being tricked. Next game is going to be a late game too.
