Spoiler: Spoiler #1 Thought it was interesting and watching Sam receive the news of his family's "torching" by the Dragons. He certainly didn't seem that happy. Spoiler: Spoiler #2 And then there is the scene where Bronn is being bribed by Cersei to kill Tyrion and Jaime. Wasn't expecting that.
I guess enough people are rooting for the "Living". Let me say this. This is all fantasy but under normal circumstances the good guys have no chance. They have built the WW to be that strong. Unless they nerf them by a large margin so that Valerian Steel and Dragonglass can kill thousands with one touch, they only have "their hope" and couple of dragons.
Obv he gets her pregnant, so we can flash forward to the Battle of the Incest Babies to see who wins it all in ep 6.
Spoiler: Little Kid coming to life and then getting burnt on the spiral of chopped hands that was a legit moment
People who watched Episode 1 instead of Rockets expecting some grand battle scenes missed out. The Rockets-Jazz game featured more scenes of the living defeating white walkers than Game of Thrones did.
I enjoyed it, I wasn't expecting a massive action packed episode to start the season even with the truncated season. I did like all the callbacks to the pilot episode both at the beginning and end, I think it set the table nicely.....I expect it to really pick up in episode 2.....
Spoiler I was half-expecting Jon to shank Sam so as to keep the secret and and prevent the infighting for the iron throne
Jon: "Hey, Bran, look at you! You're a man now!" Bran: "1 0 1 0 1 1 0 0 ...." Jon: "What?" (I stole the "code" joke from EW. That about sums it up. Bran-Bot.)
So not to start this up again...but man the travel in this show is whack. To start the episode we are at Winterfell. Little Boy Umber is there. They know the wall has come down at this point (it's discussed.) Little Boy Umber leaves to go to Last Hearth. He gets there and gets slaughtered by the Night King. I can only assume that Umber got back before the dead because there's no reason for them to like hang out at the Umber house and sleep and eat right? The people from Castle Black arrive at Last Heart at the same time as our Band of Heroes from the remnants of the wall. They then leave and can get to Winterfell before the Night's King. Also, why would they leave Little Boy Umber as a "message?" Who is that message for? Aren't they marching to Winterfell? The Night's King's army moves so crazy slow.
Well it's probably like killing Dracula and then all of his turned vampires turn back right? They can't possibly beat the army of the dead but they if they kill the actual white walkers they could win if that eliminates the dead. Also, it seems unlikely to me that this story really ends with a military victory.
They've already demonstrated that killing a WW will destroy all the wights raised/under the control of that walker. So, basically, kill one and you've just eliminated possibly thousands.
