I agree with this, would make the playoffs more interesting... But this year if we did that the Pistons would still be the 16th seed...but yeah, Pistons probably don't make it in if they had to play a few Western conference teams a bit more and if the Kings had to play a few Eastern conferences teams a bit more (instead of for example playing the Warriors 1 extra time) then maybe they'd be in at 16th seed and that would be a more interesting series just to see how the Kings as a young team would react to it.
How does a team make it to the playoffs and get blown out by 40 plus points in their first game? The east is a big joke.
just checked the score and gotdamn...this series needs a mercy rule Is Blake expected to play in game 2, or at all in this series?
Such a humiliating loss for Detroit. At least we won't have to wait for the Rockets game to start. A plus!
last year we won 5 more games than this year bucks team, and ended up playing a relatively healthy wolves team in the first round. The east is a joke, you get the 1 seed in that conference and you might as well rest your star player and not risk injury in the first round againist the 8th seed in the garbage east
That's ok I guess. There is still a chance Chris Paul and Blake Griffin play each other in the finals.
If it is the Finals of Injured stars, both would have at least couple of Injured player championships.
Without Blake Griffin, the Pistons aren't a playoff team. Heck, they might be bottom 5 without him. So the 40 point difference doesn't surprise me, especially given the fact that Milwaukee played really well.
I am calling it Bucks to the finals via Warriors luck rule No Blake. Probably no Embid And someone else will be injured I see one raptor lost his appendix Rocket River
Damn, I hope the Pistons can at least be competitive. I'm no insider, but I am Reggie Jackson's second cousin. From what his father told us, Detroit's owner pulled their top three guys in, Jackson, Griffin and Drummond, and made it clear that he's tired of losing. The owner wants a competitive team that he can brag about when he's around other owners. Had they missed the playoffs, this team would have likely been blown up. IDK how expectations will change, if at all, now that Griffin has been ruled out.
Look at Blake adding to his resume of futility! Seriously. He’s the biggest joke in the NBA and I legitimately feel sorry for die-hard Pistons fans that are stuck dealing with him. You can always count on Blake to flop, whine, cry, choke, lose, act like a fake tough guy or get injured whenever it counts the most.
I hope their two meaningless game at home is empty. I wouldn't go see if the tickets were free Sucks for Wade and Miami.
It's funny, when he came into the league I thought he had the potential to be a taller Charles Barkley (which is frightening!). But with his act I quickly became turned off by his game. He isn't a small guy or weak, so it's interesting that he has to pretend to be tough. You'd think he'd be a bully on the court! It's almost the single biggest thing that stopped him from being an all-time great.
I was really hoping for a Blake vs. Giannis matchup. Blake's watching these games thinking to himself that he also should be able to get away with those low-shoulder rim runs. Would have loved to see that matchup. Agree with Shaq on his assessment of Blake's "I would but can't" tweet.
Giannis seems like a kid Durant and Shaq would have together. He is really a perfect blend of those two.
