Illegals demand free healthcare as they turn themselves in at border

    The group of 350 pushed past police guarding the bridge and joined a larger group of about 2,000 migrants who are walking toward Tapachula in the latest caravan to enter Mexico.

    Claudia Jaqueline Sandoval, 43, from El Progreso, Honduras, was walking toward Tapachula with her 6-year-old daughter. Another son and a daughter are already in the United States.

    "I have been HIV positive for 16 years," said Sandoval, but her reason for going north was not just medical treatment. "It has been two years since I heard from my son" in the United States, and money is scarce, she said.

    Only to be released to the US eventually, instead of back into Mexico. This is one issue democrats keep shooting themselves in the foot with, and Trump is smart enough to know it will get him reelected if Pelosi keeps pretending it's a non issue. Pretending it doesn't effect the legal immigrants or the chance of poor Americans receiving a living wage.

    Must be one of the dumbest threads ever started. I know immigrants from Mexico. They are not paying for medical treatment with your money. They actually prefer to go back to Mexico for dental work or minor surgeries they need actually. Yes the emergency room will likely treat them but most wont risk going unless their lives depend on it. That’s a quick way to get deported.

    Whoever wins the nomination has some pretty easy messaging to resonate if they are good enough of a messenger to get their message out above all the noise Trump makes to steal the A Block news cycle daily.

    A. Border crossings were at a historic low when Trump came into office.
    B. There has now been a dramatic spike because of Trump. Cutting aid to Central American countries where they are coming from being exhibit A.

    Dem solution:


    -Diplomatic and Aid 911 team sent to Central America to fix issues leading to migration (maybe tout a seasoned diplomat like John Kerry leading a state dept team)
    -surveillance infrastructure package: tech help with sensors, drones, upgrade Sat tech, etc.
    -increase judges to deal with backlog
    -re-instate sponsor policy so legal family members bare responsibility and can house

    -immigration reform bill committee formed with 8 week timeline to come out of Congress with bi partisan reform bill. Dem president committed to sign into law.

    Trump shouldn’t be that hard to beat on immigration. Simply due to the fact that he’s a disaster with immigration and the Dems have good solutions. People just don’t know it.

    Maybe I missed something in the article but no where did I see anything about illegals demanding free health care.

    Would you please highlight the part of the story showing where illegal immigrants are demanding free healthcare.

    It's happening every day but the media won't report on it - they don't want to create animosity towards criminals gaming the system because they will be liberal votes in the future. Again, feel free to visit border crossings and talk to illegals about their needs and wants, or go to places like San Diego (or call up nurses who work there) and see how they operate once they are released. Don't be afraid of doing your due diligence.

    ? And why do you think that is? You can thank the completely inaccurate rhetoric of Pelosi you avoid here.

    Guatemala's population has gone up 500% in the last 70 years. In the developed world, no one's population has gone up more than 200% in that time span, in Europe it has remained the same. It is not the USA's obligation to give them aid, and illegal border crossings are illegal border crossings. Whether it's 1,000 a day or 5,000 a day. This is something democrat's will have to accept, only then can you re-instate the sponsor policy -- which I agree with

    I'm disgusted with both parties. Why they can't make a deal on this is insane. Give Trump some money for security and get the other changes needed to start fixing the problem

    Because the current problem has nothing to do with security. The current choke point is a lack of judges to hear asylum cases.

    Notice how they voluntarily give themselves up to border agents. Infact they aren't considered illegal immigrants. They are asylum seekers by law. By law their case must be heard. It doesn't mean we can't say "no" after they are heard and we should say no to many of these requests but the only way to hear these requests and not backlog the system and cause a major refugee camp issue, Trump needs to allocate more judges to hear asylum cases.

    You can call ERs on your way and see what the wait is. The language barrier slows the process down but a lot of these folks are actually very sick.

    First, why does the right lie so much? I truly am curious

    Why say they are illegal when they are not? The did not enter the country illegally.
    Why say they are making a demand when they are no? They never demanded health care?
    And why does the right claim this is a crisis of illegals flooding the border? When it is a crisis of not enough judges to hear asylum seekers?

    When this is the way the far right handles debate and discussion topics, is it any wonder why no sane logical person can take them seriously? Is it any wonder why people label them as racists because that's the only logical reason for these crazy claims that are simply not true.
