I question Hinch here. What was the compelling reason to pull Peacock after he retired the first batter in the 8th inning? Since he was dominant, why not try and have him finish this game, or wait until he falters?
Easy save for Osuna, but we shouldn't have needed him. Have to wonder how much longer the leash is for Devenski. We can't even trust him with big leads right now.
After SI writes an article about the Mariners being the best team in baseball, we come back and beat them
You know, if we just keep hitting grand slams things will prolly work out. Should be our main strategy.
He was going to be pulled prior to Yuli hitting the grand slam. The only reason he pitched to the first batter was to give Devenski a bit more of an opportunity to warm up. Devenski pitched a flawless 8th. Devenski pitching the 9th "since he was so dominant" in the 8th was Hinch trying to have him "finish the game" or "wait until he falters" when he brought in Osuna.
