in 2nd half fact: harden 13 pts 3 asts cp3 18 pts 3 asts riz: cp3 showed up bigtime harden total no show
Yes, we finished 20-5 and at least three of those loses were by 3 points or less. Other than the Bucks game the Rockets were close to winning all their loses... they lost to Lakers by 5, Grizz by 1, the Warriors by 3 and the Thunder by 1. They Rockets were very close to going 23-2 in that stretch of games.
This might be the worst thread I’ve ever seen on clutchfans. GTFO of here and don’t come back when we win it all. You’re not invited to the celebration.
Were talking about November when the Rockets have been great for 50 games. They could’ve legitimately gone 25-0 and had a net rating that would say... you know what, that matches the record. A non-fluky 25 game win streak. How many teams can say that? Damn sure not Utah or OKC.
has it gotten so bad around here to think that if the rockets went 24-0 up until last night and loss, we'd see the exact same dramatic outbursts?
Let me help you understand something. When you're an ******* and someone calls you out on you being an *******, it IS your problem. You should try to look yourself in the mirror and figure out why people think you're an *******. I will admit, there's people out there who call people assholes for no reason. But if people are being genuine (like I try to be, at pretty much everything), you should probably consider what they're saying. Now, if you're not an ******* in reality and you do it just for ***** and giggles, you probably have some other psychological problems. Aside from that, no, I didn't say sky is falling. Never once in my life did I say that.
Fair enough. I'm just pointing out there's some other teams (namely GSW) that have almost identical records, we're more tied for 2nd/3rd.
"but we would've beat them last year had CP3 stayed healthy!" Can't wait to hear this excuse in this year's playoffs.
It's called semantics and communication. It's a basic skill you pick up when you're young. I already talked about basketball, you seemed to only want to focus on what you perceive to be "feelings", and you're not even addressing any of the points. I'm actually waiting for you to talk more basketball... I made the point about betting, and you had nothing to say about it except apparently you think whatever I say is all pointing to "sky is falling material".
i posted facts about what the rockets since the AS break. your response is along the lines of ignoring this and that is stupid while having trouble comprehending point about betting? i failed to see any correlation of betting and what i posted about the rockets since the break
Harden didn't score a FG and only scored because the Thunder were intentionally fouling. Stats miss context.
If the Rockets lost last night and it cost them the #2 seed, it wouldn't matter if the Rockets were 24-0 going into last night. There is a lot of unjustified negativity surrounding the Rockets on this site. I am not Mister Positive all the time. When there is an issue I have no problem pointing it out. I am not happy that the Rockets lost, but the Rockets were the best team in basketball the last 1/3 of the season and losing to OKC on the road by 1 does not change that, regardless of how painful a loss it was. This is all about odds. Last year the Rockets had about a 25%-33% chance of winning the title. The Rockets came up just short. This year the Rockets likely have a 20-25% chance (the East is better this season) of winning the title. The Rockets go out there and play the games in the playoffs and they have a decent shot of winning. There are so many things that could happen. Steph Curry or Chris Paul could get hurt and impact the playoffs a great deal. The Rockets or Warriors could just get extremely hot and win a series in 5-6 games. While we are statistically less likely to make the WCF now, our likelihood of winning the championship is almost the same. The only difference is playing the Jazz instead of the Thunder or Spurs. The Jazz have played very well down the stretch, but they really haven't played anyone. I compare this Rockets team to those Kings teams that played the Lakers. The Lakers were favorites, but the Kings had a real chance of beating them (25%-33%). As it turned out the Kings did not beat them, but eventually a team with the odds similar is going to win (Pistons over Lakers/Cavs over GS). So while the Rockets are not going to be favorites over the Warriors in round two, the Rockets will have a decent chance to win the series (33%). As a fan, if you tell me my team has a 25%-33% chance of winning the championship, I am feeling pretty good.
good catch okc's strategy last game: let harden score and stick to the role players in the 1st 3 quarters foul harden in the 4th quarter and let the role players beat them houston as whole coaching, harden, cp3, the rest need to figure out away to counter that
I definitely would of liked them to win last night also and controlled what they could. But it doesn't change what the rockets have been for the last 2.5 months as a team. There's a ton of reasons to look forward to the coming weeks. Maybe not so much for those in this thread though
Considering we lost a 14 pt lead with 9 minutes to go with Harden scoring 13pts or with only 3 assists in the entire second half, I would say that is unlike him. I wouldn't call it a "total no show" nor did I at any point. Again, stop twisting my words. CP3's assists are also unlike him, but he took charge (dominated) when they closed in on us. I'm sure you and I can disagree all day, but if you think, Harden did everything right or was just as effective as the first half, then good on you. I don't think that.
As I've said already, blame is shared, if anything, I would put more blame on Gordon. As I've said already, it's not just about his scoring. As I've said already, he needed to dominate. He is the leader and arguably was the most skilled offensive player on the court last night, he needed to find a way to make plays and get around OKC's defense. That is his job as a leader on the court. That did not happen in the second half when his shots weren't going in.
Massive overreaction OP My main fear is Eric Gordon. He is too important to this team to play the way he did at critical times he has duds like this. The truth is..... As Gordon goes, so goes our chances.
Have you ever thought about applying to a hot take, overexaggerating, just say everything based on emotions without facts, tv show? I think you could have a career there
