If you are black and tell conservative white people what they want to hear, they will lionize you in quotations, so long as they don't have to actually associate with you or listen to you talk about fixing things.

    It's the Bill Cosby effect.

It shows their true racist colors that they believe only a few black individuals relative to the rest of the black population "get it" and the rest of the black population are brainwashed and just want handouts.

Check out the 1990 and 1992 midterms. The south elected more Democrat senators than Republicans

1992 was not a midterm election.

1990/92 was a nice find of an exception to the Southern Strategy effects. It in no way indicates the strategy was not continually employed, merely that it has not always been as successful as desired by it's implementers.

Couldn't help but notice you haven't rebutted JayGoogle who posted an informational response, as opposed to my snark:

We can either believe rocketlegend, or the architect of the strategy and former RNC chair lee atwater... or former RNC heads Michael Steele and ken melman.

    Dueling Charles Barkley quotes. LOL

Why is it that Republicans think they can quote a black person and that's an argument in and of itself that Republicans don't cater to racists? Like freaking weird.

    @JayGoogle

I'm not saying the strategy wasn't implemented in the '60s but there is no evidence that is why the South started to vote GOP considering the fact that in the 1990 and 1992 they vote for Democrat senators

The "logic" is along the same lines as "But, but, I can't be racist. I have a black friend."

Maybe the GOP can bring Diamond and Silk in front of Congress as subject matter experts on climate change.

The conservatives problem is they tend to prefer things that actually work, rather than feel good.

Decades of uninterrupted democrat leadership has produced such bastions of black enlightenment like Chicago.

Meanwhile it took the republicans barely a decade to flip NY from one of the most dangerous cities in the US, to one of the safest ones.

Politicians of all flavours do all sorts of shady ****, but it's not the conservatives who benefit from keeping blacks poor, crime ridden and uneducated, people that transition out of welfare dependency flow to, not away from them, they know that, so do the democrats.

Candice Owens 2024. She should run. Many people are wanting her to run. I would love to see her in a actual nuanced debate on macroeconomic polices with someone like Warren.

Should be interesting. Here are some talking points I think she would nail because of her expertise in the field:

    "VENEZUELA!"
