Time for the 4th annual ClutchFans Texans mock draft.

Who do you think the Texans will pick? I didn't include trade up/down scenarios because too hard to predict what teams would like to trade up/down and what they would be asking.

Here is how we did last year:
    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/2018-clutchfans-mock-draft-texans-3rd-round.289878/

    and the year before.

The NFL draft is on Thursday, April 25.

I did a simulation mock draft and Ed Oliver fell all the way to us. So I choose him. :D

If they would sign Donald Penn, I would be so for this move.

    Dillard,Jonah,Greedy will be gone.

    Give me Little.

We should start up a 2 round mock.

    Anybody willing to moderate?

I'm too pessimistic right now to think Dillard or Williams will be available. That's why I'm going with Little. Plus I have little confidence in our coaches' ability to coach up linemen.

Out of those choices I would take Dillard. Layne would still be my 1st choice though.

Deandre Baker is the only one on this list that I would be upset with. Just an absolutely terrible football character guy. Stories of him throughout this draft process should drop him in the draft but Im nervous it won't. I understand he has some talent but I think his character is going to cost him at some point in his career. His talent isnt worthy of his attitude. Hard pass from me.

Plus it's hear-say and nothing concrete. Like I said, he just needs better PR people.

Last time the Texans didn't pay attention to this kind of stuff they ended up with Sam Montgomery.

If its something that may or may not be true, with the Texans' luck, if they draft him it will absolutely turn out to be true. If they don't draft him, start fitting the yellow jacket.

Like when they passed on that player and he came out to be Marcus Peters?

I understand that we need a CB because we lost some key free agents, however, if we don't take an OT with the first pick then that will confirm that the Texans are just not ready for primetime as a front office. CBs take about 3 years to develop (see Kareem Jackson as an example), whereas an OT can be an impact player right away. If Deshaun Watson gets hurt again because he is being sacked 60+ times because we chose a CB, then we deserve to have a bad record.

You could actually say the same about tackles. It took two or three years for Duane Brown to be really good. And yet CBs like Lattimore, Peters, and Ramsey had immediate impact. Some players are going to be good regardless of the situation, others need good coaching. Our O-line coach sucks, the DB coach only has one year under his belt (I think) so we want players who are good regardless.

Clowney got some bad PR as well and it didn't affect his draft stock much
