Two things:
1. People asking for asylum aren’t “illegals.” They are following the law.

2. Categorizing a type of people as animals is about as propaganda-ish as it gets, and causes the people who buy into the propaganda to think of actual human beings as less than people so that the person making the claim can treat them as such. It’s embarrassing that people actually try to stick up for that behavior.

If your stance is that illegal immigration is out of control and that our asylum laws are broken and need to be fixed then that is fine. But I would hope that we wouldn’t have to demonize and make up false claims about people seeking asylum to get those goals accomplished. (And I would also hope that people would see through the motives of the person making that claim, but apparently that is too much to ask in some cases.)

I understand Godwin's law. But this is a fair comparison. Comparing humans who have committed non violent crimes and are seeking better opportunities are not animals. You can believe they are "cutting the line" but if "cutting the line" is the worst think you can say about them, that doesn't amount to the leader of the United States calling them sub human. That is how xenophobic rhetoric is spread.

 

Also want to add that being in the US itself undocumented is not a crime. It's a civil offense akin to driving with expired registration.

You bought into the propaganda that this video is about asylum seekers. Makes you think your political opponent is something he's not. You got fooled.

 

So they are crimes... or they're not... at least when you want to argue with me eh? I will admit that they are less serious crimes individually, but when more than a million people are expected to violate our border this year it becomes serious. Even if that number was lower than a million, it is still a serious problem.

Also the animal thing, pretty poor choice of words. Not going to defend that but it does little to change my mind about my position on illegal immigration because there are more important issues to handle than Trump making an oopsie.

 

Is this you indirectly apologizing? Also, do you believe the 'con job' part when your sources already mislead you? Curious if you learned from your mistake and went and actually found the question and answer this time.

 

I need to apologize? For what, and to who? To someone whose policies and past statements indicate he doesn't value human life?

 

then why are you posting someone else's apology? As for what hes apologizing for; he misinformed people by spreading a lie. You further spread the lie. Go look at how many people believed it above.

 

You should volunteer to take as many “asylum seekers” into your own home, it’s only right. If you value life then you should feel compelled do this.
