The list of players in NBA history who have averaged 35 ppg while leading their team to 50+ wins in the regular season: Spoiler James Harden (18/19)
Harden started the season 116th on the all-time scoring list. He will finish the season 63rd. Moving up 51 places. He will end up around 36th by the end of next season if he stays healthy most of the year.
The clowns on first take and other morning shows will continue to harp that MJ and Kobe scored 37.1 and 35.4 respectively and didn't win MVPs.. what they won't say is MJ bulls won 40 games that year and Kobe won 45.. Rox will end up with 53 or 54 and probably end up with 4th or 5th best record in the league. Also second highest scorer for bulls averaged 12 ppg Oakley and 14 ppg in odom for lakers.. Rox will have Capela averaging 17 ppg and Gordon/Paul at 16 ppg.. thats not close to being in the same league as them.. Capela is having a career year, mainly because of Harden, Also Faried is having a career year with 13 ppg because of Harden. Further more a G leaguer is gaining attention of the entire league because of wide shots he gets and averaging 11 ppg of the bench again mainly because of Harden.. All these story lines get watered down.. No one talks about Capela putting 17 and 13 because it helps Hardens narrative.. they keep harping Jordan didn't get it at 40 wins, so neither should Harden. Well we know Westbrick got it when his team won 47 games and they were 8 games behind rockets record.
Jordan's weak defense getting destroyed by the GOAT. Leaving the left hand drive? He's already beat and doesn't even know it. Cool pic, but I think should be flipped. Jordan denies the left and Harden has already began crossing over to his 0 step to splash a step back in MJ's face
Talking heads only understand overall FG% If Harden only shot 2s like Jordan he would have a much better FG%
First sentence is mostly correct. Second sentence? Only could be true if Harden’s FGA came way, way down and he only attempted layups. Jordan much stronger both as a finisher around the basket and a midrange shooter. Edit: never mind, I misunderstood what you were saying.
Shooting so many 3s drags down his overall FG%. If you look at that number he looks less efficient than say a Jordan or other players who shot more 2s.
