Are you talking about Ariza's first stop here or the 2nd? Ariza got a big contract his first stop with the Rockets because management projected he was a potential star. They were wrong.

You shouldn't compare House to 2nd stop Ariza. He was a vet and you knew exactly what you are getting. House is a young player and you have to evaluate his upside.

Is House going to become more consistent? Is he just playing well in Dantoni's system and benefitting from Harden's greatness? Is he going to level off or regress? Or is he going to continue to improve year after year? Nobody really knows for sure but GM's are supposed to know more than the rest of us and they get paid a lot of money to be right about those matters.

We see where Morey evaluated him. We see what GS thought of him. Time will tell who is right- House and his agent or GS/Morey.

I don't care about the contracts/ financial part of the game but I understand some fans do. Personally, I just like to see the team win and House is really helping. I hope he continues doing what he's doing and is a key part of bringing home a championship.

Solid role players are signing for the veteran minimum which he was offered.

not anywhere near what the other poster who said he should be getting 4 million a year.

I agree with you totally, I am not comparing him to anybody just stating what the market is.

I am just tired of posters who think he should be getting the full MLE after a half seasons of games let's just see how the rest of the season and playoffs go.

House is proving to the league that he can play, and play well, someone will want to snag him.

It's funny to me the idea that if House has a great regular season and a great playoffs then MAYBE he will be worth the MLE. This is for a team that during House's tenure has been the 2nd winningest team in the NBA and he has been a key contributor.

Will Barton makes $12m. Wilson Chandler makes almost $12m. Harkless makes $10.5m. Jae Crowder makes $7m, Ingles $13m. Belinelli $6m. Rudy Gay $10m.

These are some well rounded, average wings on Western playoff teams. Most of them not the best on their team. You can't tell me with a straight face House hasn't earned $5.1m even before the playoffs. He is at worst a tier below these guys, and maybe better than a few of them. If he performs in the playoffs, he'll have proven himself to be worth more than that. If he plays well in the playoffs and we get him for $5.1m, we will have snagged a long term 26 year old starter for the MLE, which is a bargain.

Shoulda woulda coulda. Let's just enjoy the depth he brings.

    Love seeing you post here.
    Like your English Translations, too.
They are quirky, yet still fit. And we understand.

But the quote above, I am confident you would welcome a correction. Use “Step-Back Three” versus “retreats three steps”. That is correct name of the shot.

Unless, you want to say Harden is Traveling, as sarcasm?

Solomon Hill was a starter on a playoff team and was also a 1st round pick who happened to be a free agent when the salary cap went way up.

Yes he has definitely played as well as House and it's the reason House will not they the type of money you think he will get.

Please explain how a guy who has not started over 20 games and is averaging less than 10 ppg deserves over 9 million dollars?

Just because another average is overpaid does not mean another average guy deserves the same.

So you know all of that when he has played less than 50 games?

Did Cory Brewer not teach you a lesson?

If he actually is worth that he will have his suiters
but all of those guys have and had proven to be much better over multiple seasons something that House has yet to do.

Do you consider the MLE a big contract?

Bro... I am a Chinese rocket fan, my English is not very good, so my posts are all solved through the online translator of "Chinese -> English"... So some translated words may be crazy.:(

Yes, I know. I like your translations.
The following is a good phrase to learn.

    "Step-Back 3"

For House Right now? Yes. It would be a gamble that i wouldn't take but I'm a terrible judge of player potential.

We get to see how the rest of the season plays out though. If he plays well and we win a championship then it's not a gamble anymore and the MLE is reasonable. If he sucks in the playoffs then I wouldn't offer the MLE.

Danuel House really reminds me Devean George, his shooting form, his dribbling, corner 3 pointers,
shot blocking, athleticism, his height, Rockets really found a gem, I really hope the Rockets resign him and Faried, Rivers also.
