Maybe not, but for the rest of this season, he's got something worth much, much more:

a guarantee that somebody on ClutchFans will start an entirely new thread for every good play he makes.

Great dunk, should have shot the open 3.

Against a good defense that's not a dunk and a very difficult drive or an offense stalling reset.

I know the hate is incoming for that stance but it doesn't change the fact that passing up a wide open 3 to drive into the heart of the defense was the wrong decision.

    Glad it worked out spectacularly

....if D'Antoni will bother to extend his seven-man rotation.

I am not a "House only" fan or something like that, but man his play has made the decision to play hardball over his contract very difficult to understand. Really absurd that the team wasnt willing to get into the luxury tax and sign him earlier given how badly we needed his play.

Good defensive teams can have a defensive breakdown or play off and that's where DHo can make them pay. You have to respect his 3 ball, and driving ability. He can also drive and dish to a rim running Capela or Manimal.

I'm more concerned for the 4th Q of a close game in playoffs- can he/we keep our composure and close it out.

I don't think he goes for that dunk if there isn't a ten-lane highway to the basket in front of him which there won't be with good teams. He's not someone that's itching to drive instead of shoot like Rivers. My impression watching it was that he saw how open it was and just went for it.

Well, I hope that's what it was. Personally, I like to see plays like that. Fires up your team and plays a little psychological warfare on the opponent.

Of course, if he'd made the three, we'd have had our 27, but that's a flip of a coin at best, so I'll take the badass 100% dunk this time.

Who said the only reason they did not sign House was to avoid the LT?

That is a very simplistic view of all of the reasons that went into not signing House.

In Danuel House the Rockets have an athletic wing that can 1) Shoot 3's 2) throw down dunks 3) can block shots.

    Kinda nice to see.

Should have paid him - now we will probably lose a guy that fits PERFECTLY with Harden.

I know perfectly fine his strengths and I like him for them.

What I'm specifically talking about is his decision making and IQ in this play. It works here against a bad team but against a good team this could prove costly.

It was the wrong read is all I'm saying.

he asked for just under 4 mil a year, and tillman said NO......

players producing at House level are easily making 3 times that. its disrespectful to harden for us to have not locked his great talent down. we have an all time great in his prime, and the owner is a cheap b*stard.

how do you know that he wouldn't shoot instead of the drive if that was the good defensive team?

watching him this season he knows perfectly well when to drive and when to shoot, if anything he should drive more

Name a player currently that signed for 9 million a year averaging what he is.

Not what they are currently making but what they were producing before signing said contract.

Ariza did not even sign for that kind of money when he came here.

    I hear you.
Good coach viewing that play: "NO, no, no, no, no, YES!"

Because Tillman is a cheapass and morey plays hardball way too often. You don’t do that in prime harden’s historic season

He's a young player showing his upside. He has definitely increased his value from a G league player. How high his value goes depends on what he does the rest of the season and in to the playoffs.

At the very least he has worked his way out of short term contracts, the G League, getting cut by teams, etc. and into a solid role player contract.
