If GSW beats denver, that would give them an effective 3 game lead with 5 games left and should seal the #1 That should put Rockets and Portland 2 games behind Denver A bit worried about the Sacramento and Clippers back2back and to a lesser extent the OKC game. Clippers will be well rested for that game. If we drop any game, we will likely end up with #4. Two or more losses is highly unlikely.
If Warriors (over Nuggets) and Rockets win tonight, Rockets control their own destiny for the 3rd seed.
We don't as long as the Blazers have the same number of losses as us. Right now we only control our own destiny for the 4th seed.
its really annoying the way portland keeps winning.... they have had a pretty light schedule but still
Without two starters! Everyone in the West is hot when it counts, unless you’re OKC, but everyone besides Max Kellerman would notice What a time to be alive
Blazers beat Wolves last night moving the Rockets to the 4 seed based on the tie-breaker. Blazer's final games are vs MEM (w/o JV), at DEN, DEN, at LAL (w/o LeBron), SAC. Realistically Blazers might not lose more than *one* of those. Very possible Rockets might have to win out. I could see DEN going 3-3 to finish with L's to GSW, POR, and either SAS or UTH.
ehhh maybe, but i think as long as he keeps having these big games he will win it. James definitely has had more "MVP moments" than giannis. what memorable plays does he really have this year ? sure he has some dunks, but he is 6'11 he is supposed to dunk a lot. how many clutch moments ? what would happen seeding wise if DEN, HOU, and POR all end up tied at the end of the season ?
I really dont understand why some fans are so interested in Harden winning the MVP. Legacies are judged primarily by championships, and another MVP without a championship will only reinforce the narrative of a regular season performer who fades in the post season. I would rather he keeps his powder dry and save his big games for the post season
b. More Than Two Teams Tied (1) Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams. (2) Better winning percentage against teams in own division (only if all tied teams are in the same division). (3) Better winning percentage against teams in own conference. (4) Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in own conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position). (5) Better net result of total points scored less total points allowed against all opponents ("point differential").
Right now, yes, but if the Warriors and Rockets win tonight, the Rockets control their own destiny for the 3rd seed. Rockets would be 1.5 back if Denver (2 back in loss column) and tied in loss column with Portland, With those two playing each other twice. Assuming Rockets win out and neither of those teams lose a game outside of to each other after tonight, here’s how it would break down: - Nuggets 2-0 Portland: Den 56-26, Hou 54-28, Por 52-30 - Nuggets 1-1 Portland: Den 55-27, Hou 54-28, Por 53-29 - Nuggets 0-2 Portland: Hou 54-28, Den 54-28, Por 54-28 (Rockets win tiebreaker as Denver wins division over Portland and Rockets win season series over Denver) So, if The Nuggets lose tonight and Rockets win out, Rockets would finish no worse than 3rd in the West.
Nope. GSW is going to beat Denver tonight, given that we are going to be at least 3rd seed as long as we win out. Portland has two games left against Denver, if the lose at least 1 of them, we will have fewer losses so we will be above. If Portland win both, Denver will be at best tied with us in the losing column(given they lose to GSW tonight), and we will be above because we hold the tiebreaker.
Rockets beat the Kings. Nuggets down 30 points in the 4th in Oracle. Rockets will be only 1.5 game back from #2 seed tonight! Nuggets remaining schedule: San Antonio, Portland, @Portland, @Utah, Minnesota. These are some tough games.
With the win tonight against the kings, the Rockets clinched the 6th seed (can do no worse than 6th) If the Rockets beat the Clippers tomorrow night, they will clinch the 5th seed.
