Would still require Spurs to do at least as well. Spurs have Atlanta, @denver (2nd game of back2back), @Washington, @Cleveland, Dallas; while OKC have LAL, Detroit, @Minnesota, Houston, @Milwaukee There is no guarantee that Spurs will have as good or better record than OKC in their last 5 games
Really wasted opportunities. We shot ourselves in the foot with off-season moves, especially the Melo addition. That nonsensical Melo experiment cost us some very winnable games. And then there were games lost just because Mike couldn't manage the game properly. Cant afford to **** around when we need HCA against the Warriors in the playoffs.
We probably had almost 10 games where we choked it at the end but we can beat GSW on their home court. It’ll be even sweeter if we did beat them in a series on their home court and have them taste that karma. BTW if the Rockets do get the 2nd seed, how can they not give Harden that MVP?
They will switch the narrative and pretended every past MVP had the 1st seed. Just like they are now pretending every past MVP was a defensive juggernaut.
idk how the standings will play out, but I'd prefer the clippers over the spurs. Patty mills, bellinelli, gay, etc. are going to be a much more difficult out than gallinari, williams, and zubac.
I do NOT want the Spurs in Round 1. I know they've hit a bit of a slump, but they were playing really well until about a week ago and Popovich has always owned D'Antoni in the postseason. Honestly the Rockets may be fortunate if they don't get that 2nd seed. Finishing that high would all but guarantee either San Antonio or OKC in the first round. Give me the Jazz or Clippers instead. Not that I don't want the team to keep trying to win. They have to in order to guarantee home court since Utah has a cupcake schedule and may only lose one more game(at the Clippers on a B2B to finish the season). So the Rockets can't lose more than a game or two the rest of the way.
To be in a three way tie with Denver and Portland, they would have to determine pecking order by establishing who is NW division winner before seeding, then break a tiebreaker between 2 division winners I don’t think Portland can clinch their division if they ended up tied with Denver in any two way or three way scenario. They would still have a worse division and conference records under any scenario. I’m pretty sure Rockets would clinch a three way tie
So based on the Denver vs Portland b2b, we have to make a decision right? We either give up the 2 seed (hope Denver win both games), or ambitiously still want the 2 seed (Portland win both games, and they still have to lose a game somewhere else). The latter look quite unlikely now, so our best wish is Denver win both, to solidify our 3rd seed? (in case we don't win out, we need Portland to lose another 2 because them splitting with Denver won't be enough). Man that Memphis game, Pelicans game without AD, that OKC 26pt giveaway, and the Lakers game aka Scott Foster show, that Dallas comeback, those losses are going to hunt us. Same with Denver's b2b buzz beaters in Indiana and Dallas.
why are you guys so obsessed with the two seed ? its not realistic and its not necessary. we do not need homecourt to beat denver in a series. also, if they end up matched up with the spurs, dont be surprised if they dont even get out of the first round. they only thing that is important is beating portland for the 3 seed.
