Started from the [14th seed] now we’re here. Edit: also first team in the West to clinch a division title this season.
Who the hell made the Kings schedule. They played us yesterday and we play again on Tuesday but in the middle they have to play the Spurs while we play no one?
The Spurs apparently couldn't take advantage of the B2B for the Kings. What drives me nutz is that we played the Kings yesterday, get 2 days off, then have a B2B at Sactown and the Clippers. Why not simply have a day between each game?
Unlike the Texans, we don't hang banners for being Southwest Division Champs. Remember when Bill O'Brien was so proud of winning the AFC South 2 years in a row?
This is the seventh division title in franchise history. From 1967 to 1994, they had won four. They've won their division three times since 2015.
Nothing wrong with it. It's a grueling 82-game season. Winning the division isn't something to throw a parade over, but it's still a noteworthy accomplishment.
This also means Rockets win all multi-team ties, since 1st tie-breaker goes to a Division winner. This includes all possible ties with GSW and DEN, since we have 3-1 records against both.
I'm as proud of a Rockets fan as any, love the fact we that started the season badly and overcame the odds to finish high. But the true accomplishment is the title. I don't want to fall into the Bill O'Brien trap and react as if we've actually won something when we've won absolutely nothing
You can make note of an accomplishment without substituting it for the ultimate goal. The Spurs and Heat have division title banners, as well. I'm sure others do, but those are the ones I googled. The season is far too long not to recognize how well a team did in those 82 games. I think one banner with the division title years is best, though.
True. Also, division title comes right after head to head for 2 team tiebreakers. For example, if we were to break the tie with the Jazz and since we are tied H2H with 2-2, the next tiebreaker is division title which we have. We will win the tie breaker against the Jazz assuming Nuggets or Blazers won the northwest division.
This will be the official song of the rockets playoffs or we bring back this: @Clutch please tell rockets media department
This is a good thing. James Harden is the greatest b2b player in NBA history. He’s gonna drop 90 on Clippers.
