I know this isn't purely rockets related, but if Fertitta is going to pony up to pay Sampson the money has to come from somewhere.

I'm so deep in tilman conspiracies right now I'm starting to think tilman is actually rich

I think he's pretending to be cheap in order to continue constructing his empire while flying under the radar

This dude owns all the casino's . He's about to cash in on this rockets and cougars title run. Don't bet against the house

“We will do whatever it takes to keep Tom Herman at the University of Houston. We’re not going to lose Tom Herman because of money. If Tom Herman wants to go LSU or Texas or Oregon or Baylor or wherever else, we cannot stop him from doing that. He’s not going to leave because of money.”

Money is not the problem. Conference affiliation is. (Though more so in football than basketball.)

    Power 5/Texas/Big 12(Herman)
    Power 5/Texas A&M/SEC(Sumlin)
    Power 5/Baylor/Big 12(Briles)
    Power 5/Arkansas??/SEC
    Group of 5/Houston/AAC

In basketball you can win at a small school. Look at coach K or Stevens or few. Duke is small private school. Its kind of like rice.

    Agree.

What can't Kelvin do at UH that he can at Arkansas (or wherever)?

Listening to Clint's post game interview, Rockets coaching must preach < 25pts/quarter allowed defensively.

Rockets executed that tonight.... very almost (25-pt 1st).

This isn’t football though. That doesn’t matter. The AAC is a great basketball conference.

Apparently the money comes from the Board of Regents.

    The money comes from TF.
The Board of Regents does what TF wants.
The Chairman of the Board of Regents is TF.

Not ALL the Rockets money is going to Sampson.

Matt Maloney still gets his check every year.

This is why I felt putting a ton of money into football was a bit of a waste, as long as the egos/fear of UT exist, they will be blocked from where they should be in football. Going all in on basketball will pay off.

    This is wrong.
The money comes from UH Board of Regents.
