That's a real indicator of bias.

The media bias against Harden is not some woe-is-me fan belief... it's a real thing. The organization is well aware of it.

@Deuce posted on Twitter the other day... what would the narrative be if LeBron James was putting up these numbers with these team results? What about Steph Curry? Or Paul George?

    Fool needs his ass whooped.

He's messing with people's legacy behind personal feelings. Zero respect for him.

how aware is the organization of the ref bias? i recall during playoffs last season tilman alluded to the league office warning not to complain about the officiating publicly...

I hope Harden gets 50+ and we kick their azz tonite. That's gonna make this race even more lopsided

I'm not sure on that. I do think most know it was personal for Scott Foster. I don't think there's a view of bias, but I'm not sure how they feel about the officiating in general.

It sure looks like Eastern Conference former players are picking Giannis while Western Conference former players are picking Harden. Lol. I haven’t tallied it up but it seems like that’s the case from just browsing this forum.

Stop telling me the Bucks record. They are in the East. That record is inflated. Bucks winning percentage against the East: 79% against the West: 67% . Not to mention all the exhaustion that comes with having to play Western conference teams every game.

Most the media seems East, but Harden's biggest supporter Paul Pierce is East.

Stephen A Smith is East and he's pro Harden.

Anyone who is honest with themselves knows it's Harden.

Otherwise it's just, "anyone not named Harden" voters.

Giannis is a great player, he will probably win MVP someday.

But the media creating false arguments in favor of him, it's ridiculous. Harden is doing things that not even MJ did. He is doing it every night, in a tougher conference, after a horrible start with multiple guys injured.

He has the stats and the narrative to win it again this year, but for some reason he rubs people the wrong way because he "exploits basketball".

Anyway, hope we win the title over the bucks, that would be incredible.

One of the corniest announcers around and he looks like a ghoul. Thank god he had basketball cause he got screwed in every other way in the genetics department.

if it were Lebron or Curry with these same stats, you’d get laughed at if u mentioned Giannis to these media members, but because it’s Harden who is putting up legendary numbers, all of the sudden there’s an actual MVP race

Bron would never be accused of “not playing the right way” if he was averaging 36, 6, and 7...they’d be having daily segments wondering if he was truly the GOAT instead

If Lebron was doing the same thing on the Lakers as Harden is on the Rockets, do you think Giannis would win?

He wouldn't have any chance in hell.

Here's today's WSJ article illustrating this. It's a positive article about Harden, but -- as WSJ does well -- they will summarize takes of others to juxtapose opinions.

But there are some limits to Harden’s game. His heavy workload puts him at greater risk of wearing down. He is not known for his defensive expertise. And his brutally efficient style isn’t for everyone. There are times when rooting for Harden feels like marveling at the subway.

Without even really intending to, this highlights the anti-Harden vote -- with that statement about defense being soundly out-dated. We hear this way too much for it not to be an actual anti-narrative. If we believe that Narratives play into the MVP vote, then most certainly "anti-narratives" do. That's why they are out hunting for another player and claim it's all stats and wins this year, rather than a Narrative year like Westbrook.

Oh snap, Pierce is West... LA specifically. Harden's hood.

    Just realized the correlation.

I believe Sharpe and Skip are pro-Harden.

    Last 3 years he chose:

    2017 - Westbrook
    2018 - Lebron
    2019 - Giannis

He is clearly insecure about Harden being better than him at basketball and that fact that harden will inevitably pass him on the all time 3PM list
