They moved to a temporary location across the street earlier this year. They're building a new location @ Scott and Alabama should open later this year. Wheeler Ave Church owned the land the original was on.
It's a club/lounge type of place. I think a few former NBA players owned it at one point, maybe still do.
That is sad to hear that they tore down the original Frenchy's. That would be like tearing down the original McDonald's. Another place we used to eat was Ed Fillan's Steakhouse.(not sure if this is correct spelling of last name). It was a few miles off campus just off Telephone Road. We used to go there frequently to get the ribeye special for $2.69. I am sure it is long gone by now.
For me, it was Grady Gaines. We were usually just about the only white people there. Loved that place. I guess it’s still there but they quit doing music or something? I’ve been gone for a long time and havent thought of it in years.
