This sale expires on Saturday, 3/23.
    • I don't follow discounts on TVs and stuff, but following prices of Meat and Cheese is my game. I'm willing to bet, this will be the best sell you will find rest of year on pork loin. Enough to make me stop and post it.

Pork Shoulder rarely goes below this price, and that includes a huge bone and fat to trim.

    • The deal is that you have to use Kroger's online "Click-list" Pickup service. Coupon does not apply in the store. So I think this is like a lost leader to promote use of their Pickup service.
    I bought three 4 pounders for ~ $5 each ... saving $37.

Here's the coupon on their website. Under "Digital Coupons" select "Click List Hot Digital Offers"

While i'm not a huge pork tenderloin fan, I do appreciate a good meat sale.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Pork tenderloin regularly goes on sale here in Texas for 99 cents a pound.

Highly recommend seeking out tofu and tempeh instead. Healthier and doesn't destroy the environment/harm animals.

Peppered cured smoked pork* tenderloin. Tender pork loin jerky? I'll give you the details if you want. Looks something similar to this:

Just loaded the digital coupon on my krogers account... Pork loin though, different than tenderloin. Still good, I'm going to pick one up. Thanks for the heads up.

"regularly"? Like red sticker sales, where Butcher can name his price for clear outs. Yeah, I'm always checking the Shoulder for red sticker mark-downs. Gotta be alert!! I think I saw a butcher mark them down to 50 cents once in last year.

I'll admit I don't keep my eye on pork loin prices as much as shoulder and beef cuts (and chicken). But I'm pretty sure Krogers hasn't done an actual, advertised 99-cent sale for loin for over a year (can't remember what %-off that was)...and the prices are the same in Boulder/Houston. I expect this to be the lowest they go this year.

Tempting to ask, but I know I will probably never do it. But post anyway, I'm have an educational fascination with curing meats.

I love it when my friends make that kinda stuff, and got one to buy a few on this sell. And if I had a cold smokehouse like you, I'd surely be hitting you up for advice. For whatever reason, I've never gotten into common uses on loin like that, maybe because there was always a friend who specialzed on it, so that was covered at all events.

My plan is just Asian stuff. Going to do a Bún thịt nướng marinade and grill a pile of the stuff, and freeze it in individual serving packets for Pho/Bun later. And don't give me the business for going with a lean cut vs the Shoulder on this. :) It's bad enough I've been doing a lot of chili with Shoulderr, lately.

Is this the same cut as the pork loin on sale at HEB this week?

    https://www.heb.com/weekly-ads/weekly-deals/599

I don't usually buy pork loins because i find it too easy to overcook. I may give it another shot though. The pork butt for $1/lb is also a good deal.

Yes. REGULARLY. They always hover at the 1.49 sales price all year long. So your sarcasm falls mightily short with the "managers special" "joke".

Being as dallas and Houston dont even share the same prices on meat, Im pretty sure Boulder and Houston dont either.

Source: A customer of mine that is the head of meat dept of Krogers in my area that has explained why sometimes there are price discrepancies cause of the distribution center they get it out of being either Houston or dallas, but as you were.......

LOL. Yes. One whole dollar @heypartner, so excuse my 1% faux pas

@jchu14 they really do cook faster than you would think but I usually salt and pepper them and then sear on all sides, then add thyme, oregano, little bit of rosemary, balsamic vinegar, olive oil or butter and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes(wrapped in foil) and it always comes out moist.
