Another questionable tactic by a cranky old guy

It's not 2016 Bernie. We have to be better than this.

2016 Bernie was screwed over, I don't blame him for doing what it takes to win this time around.

My understanding is that Bernie has a pretty extensive history of haranguing the press when they don't present exactly the angle he wants going way back to the 80's.

He's got some long standing control issues with the media that don't really jive with his kindly old man persona.

I don't even think he was every seemingly kindly, he was just not Hilary and pretty progressive in 2016.

No he wasn't. This is such a ridiculous statement. Clinton trounced him in the primaries. If you took away all of the super delegates she would have still won.

Asked this in the Beto thread, but I'm seriously thinking that its becoming more and more obvious that Bernie & his followers prefer Trump winning over a Democrat other than Bernie winning the general election.... just to prove a point a play the victim like Trump does.

I'm getting sick and freaking tired of the stupid Bernie victim hood. Bernie's platform has ALOT in common with nearly all the Democratic candidates. Stop playing your part to destroy the country out of your stupid messiah complex.

Get over yourself. You didn't invent single payer health insurance for F-ck sake.

And no one should play nice with him because he got screwed (it's mostly a false narrative however - he lost some opportunity with less debates, which might have been significant, but other than that, he was losing big). If he can't survive the attacks at this point, he won't survive the presidential run. Since he’s might be the favorite, there is going to be plenty of attacks toward him.

My own take on him is he's not a team player and is an opportunist.

Democrats who love the popular vote over electoral college have no room to cry for Sanders.

She got something like 55% of the vote in the primary. If it had been a Republican style primary where you win all of the delegates for each state you win she would have obliterated him. He did not get screwed.

If I may add: even if the "system" "screwed him over," (and I agree with you that it did not), what makes anyone think they join a club one week and win the right to lead the entire organization the next? Nothing but nothing in human societies works like that. As soon as he lost, he left the club again. Now he's rejoined just in time to run once more. It does not speak of someone who can win friends and influence others to affect real change within an organization (e.g. what would be welcome and badly needed change within the DNC). I'm reminded of Barry Bonds having his own segment of the locker room with a recliner. Like, he's technically part of the team, but not really. He sets himself above it.

But threads like this are super delicious for our more conservative friends. LOL. Cheers.

I mean listen, I'm not not a democrat primary voter so I'm on the outside looking in here, but I totally agree with you. Guy hasn't put in the years working for change in the system, he just plays outside of it and then when he wants a bigger platform he wants that system to bend to him and throws a tantrum when it doesn't.

"Bernie got screwed" was a big Cambridge Analytica/Internet Research Agency/Russian GRU/Wikileaks/GOP talking point for a reason.

That's not the question though. The question though is if he'll beat Beto, Biden, Kamala, etc. in the general election when they face off with Trump & the GOP who will be united, well funded, and armed to teeth with propoganda.

I think more people voted for "Not Hillary" over Trump in the moderate side. I think any of those candidates can beat Trump and that's why they all jumped in.

This will be the easiest election for democrats since Obama in 2008. That's how bad a candidate Hillary was and she still won the popular vote.

That's the way I felt personally about, Hillary was the heir apparent and no one would get in her way. She was the most unlikable democratic candidate I can think of in...well a good 20 years at least since I wasn't alive to see or remember the others.

No. Bernie did not invent single payer. It was invented over a hundred years ago and at least by Bismark in Germany, if not before. Probably millions of American have died and tens of millions have suffered unduly or gone bankrupt because we do not have it. The extra 50% that goes to healthcare over the other advanced countries is one of the major reasons why as a rich country we are allegedly "too poor" to havbe the infrastructure, child care support and free college that other countries have.

No other major candidate pushed single payer till 2016 (dispute that if you can) and all of the 2020 Dem candidates most of whom signed off on it are already equivocating and talking about other plans that will keep their healthcare donors happy.

Just silly the claim that Bernie supporters would rather have Trump win. Many Bernie supporters view
Trumps as the result of a Dem Party beholden only to rich donors and not their traditional working class base that kept them in power for over 40 years. I accept that you think Bernie cannot win or simply don't back his policies. FWIW a higher percentage of disgruntled Hillary voters failed to vote for Obama than the percent of Bernie voters who did not vote for Hillary.

Here you have Sam, trying to act like Beto is victimized by referring to a journalist that he and the supporters of the old guard call a "troll". I hardly call a public announcement a "secret", but perhaps Sam is merely copying from his facebook feed.
BTW who exactly is playing the victimized game?

I feel like Bernie should hire me as his troll. I mean I was trolling in 2002 before there was even a thing called trolls, right @King1?
