If the Rockets believe that his strained neck is the culprit of his poor 3pt shooting then yes, rest him.

But if not, then don't. They have ZERO margin for error in wins/losses and seeding is critical. Heck, you could rest him, hemorrhage losses and the neck thing flares up again and then what do you have?

Rockets gave up their *margin for error* to be able to rest guys when they did not sign House. They lost *5 games* during that stretch House was out that they could have easily won. That would have given them the #1 seed right now. Think about that.

Amen. I really wish that he would. Get his body as whole as possible and then finish the run to the playoffs. I doubt that he will, but the guy needs it, in my opinion.

That's a rare disagreement with @Deuce on my part, but as someone with spinal issues, a recurring cervical strain sort of freaks me out. I agree with him about needing the wins and getting as high a seed as we can get, but we aren't going anywhere in the postseason without a healthy Harden, no matter what our seeding is.

Man they manhandled us last time we played them. We need harden to beat them. KAT is paying the best stretch of basketball if his career

I agree. The question is, will resting fix the problem? Do we know? If so, then yes. If not....then battle through. I just don't know. I do know that they have no margin for error and have to win games to set themselves up in seeding.

I 100% agree health is important. But I tend to *push back* a bit on *rest.* I think we tend to get a bit TOO caught up in the *bubble wrap* stuff around here.

We know Harden will play if he can. Last time he was out with this injury he said he couldn't sleep could bearly walk because of the pain that daily life was hard.

    Initial Treatments for Neck Strain
When pain from a neck strain first develops, one or more of the following treatments are typically tried:

    • Activity modification. Resting the neck and/or refraining from strenuous activities for a couple days can give the muscle or tendon time to start healing and feeling better. Trying to push through the pain without reducing activity levels could worsen the injury and prolong the pain.

The House situation is in the past now. Nothing we can do to get those 5 or so games back.

I guess I don’t get why so many fans want to see him soldier through this injury for the sake of seeding. James health is priority #1 if we stand any chance of having a championship run.

If that applies to Harden then fine. But it might not depending on what exactly he is dealing with.

And Capela has been terrible against other good centers since he returned, so...

You got that, I got CPs tricky hamstring. The weird thing is you can lift, you can stretch you can do any number of things but run and have no problems. Even when you run and you know you’re ok....then you make one wonky reactionary move and kablammo, that thing is strained like a mug. And the best part is after your hamstring stops hurting, your groin will be sore from picking up the slack...knee...legs and back...it just works it’s way out.

    We’re not 18 anymore

We should and that's why I am worried. Houston doesn't play great in should win circumstances. Also teams like Minnesota play really hard, another issue for. They have to play closer to a full-game of winning basketball.

I know this is the unpopular opinion but I respect you for taking it.

Because honestly, what your saying is accurate and correct. It just doesnt seem so on the surface.

My one push back, is while playing on it very well may not effect its healing process, their are secondary instances that can aggravate it and keep it a more prolonged injury. Ala falling on his neck and creating a flair up.

I know he needs his rest, but this game is BIG for us.

The Rockets need to get separation from OKC. They've lost Russ for their next game due to suspension from running that ugly mou(f) of his.

The Nuggets play Boston tomorrow (or Tuesday) EDIT: The Nugs have a BRUTAL road schedule coming up. We can take that 2nd seed with wins like tonight.

EDIT: OKC (we all know) has a miserable schedule also. This is the time the Rockets take that 2nd seed and fight for a slim jimmy chance of the 1st seed (totally possible, too) Steph and Boogie look like they have some heavy ankles...

A Rockets win gives them breathing room and gets them closer to that 2nd seed. Denver is not beating Boston on Kyrie's court. Period...or Periodt apparently lol.

I say limit James' minutes and have CP3 do the heavy lifting. Put Faried and Capela with Tuck in to terrorize KAT. Play Shump heavier minutes on Rose (great success before on him) and let EG be the primary scorer.

    The Rockets need this game.

Holy crap! Danuel House is the key to championship formula, mathematically proven.
