i mean small sample size aside, i think he is worth the MLE for 3 years. he's still young and has hardly had anytime to improve his game without thinking about a paycheck.

but chances are if he performs well, some chad team will offer more.

These two ways deals are going to get changed this offseason. Right now they are better than most first round deals.

Morey's rule to test the market will backfire on this one and the whole shutdown screwed up the relationship. Now House has a chip on his shoulder and knows how cutthroat this franchise is. He's out to make the biggest buck and it won't be us. Next time we should appreciate great role players better by not offering them 4yrs non guaranteed minimum contracts.

He's going to get a Chandler Parsons contract from Cuban. Then Tilman will send Morey out to tell us that great teams discover the next Danuel House but don't pay Danuel House.

At the end of the day, it’s all business. Worst case is he won’t do any team any favors. He will do what’s best for him even if that is signing with the Rockets for a little bit less to avoid paying the state income taxes you would have to pay playing for other teams.

Chandler Parsons was the perfect example of no loyalty on either side. Even if you let a player out of his contract earlier and do them a favor he won’t give your team a pay cut. The players who typically do take pay cuts are the ones who have already earned it and prefer winning, playing with certain players, coaches, etc.

Y'know, Parsons might not be the best example of how it would hurt us to lose a player.

Chandler and Dwight Howard had the same agent at the time. Letting Chandler out early was part of getting Dwight to Houston. The rest was about Chandler getting the best deal possible.

Deja vu? Funny how you never created a Le$ is cheap thread but yet you're ******** all over Tilman on his 1.5 years of owning this team. The coffee caffeine has kicked in.

Chandler Parsons was and is one of the worst contracts in the NBA. Thank God Morey or Les was smart enough to know it is better to discover the Chandler Parsons rather than pay him. As nice as House is, if he gets Chandler Parson money he can gtfo too.

So... your point is that Tilman and Morey will do the right thing for the franchise, again?

i was thinking around 3/10 - 3/12 range... no player option... decent role player money for a guy without a lengthier resume...

let him test the market... that way he has a realistic assessment of his true value - and doesnt think he's get lowballed or undervalued... bc guys always have an inflated self value... wasnt CC supposed to command a max contract last off season... jus sayin...

The max we can offer is $5.1m per season. If he somehow maintains these %'s, defense and effort then match anything you can. The more the years the better, he's 25 so those are all going to be some of his best years.

In truth, many teams will have the full MLE or cap space and if he's worth $5.1m, then they will just offer him $5.2m and our hands are tied. However, given this is his hometown and the taxes are more friendly too, he would probably want a $5.5m+ per year offer to leave.

Now, do I think the Cheapman is going to match our full MLE on House? No. I think he's petty, cheap and insecure and will gamble unless Harden forces their hand. If House plays well to finish the season, I think Harden will do just that.

I think it's somewhat pointless to speculate on what his salary could be until he performs in the playoffs. If he's a big contributor in the playoffs he'll likely get way better offers than he would at this moment.
