when House didnt agree to allow himself to be locked up for 3 years on a min contract... there was some unkind words being expressed about him...

I'm paraphrasing... but the basic sentiment I heard expressed by at least a few was along the lines of "he's an ungrateful scrub that should be thankful that he got offered a contract period... who does he think he is - Michael Jordan? He was already cut loose by the Suns and the GSW - he's nothing special..."

granted... I believe these these views were based on people's blind loyalty to the org and wanting the team to benefit from a long term cheap deal - rather than not faulting House for betting on himself..

...and I think you still find that residual 'butthurtness' still present in current threads...

    Stats don't lie.

Phoenix, that's not having wide open shots with MVP James Harden.

you don't go from 26% to 39% for a reason.

if Morey thinks he's worth 4 million, I agree with Morey.

    Code:

couldnt have anything to do with him realizing that he was going to have to work a lot harder if he hoped to survive in the league and applying himself and working harder and practicing...?
idk his workout ethic... but yer just gonna assume that his upturn is based solely on Harden? i mean how did that work for MCW?
People improve their ft shooting all the time... and that has nothing to do with anybody else...

    jus sayin... ;) lol

Daniel House is a G League star like Troy Williams

People are overvaluing him just like how he said he was Tmac

you know how I feel about Tmac, but he's not remotely close to Tmac when he was an Allstar player

Open 3 pointers makes anyone look good, Morey thought he was worth 4mill then I believe him.

    A) Do you think Morey offers guys contracts on what he thinks they are actually worth - or rather the least amount he hopes he can get them to accept with the expectation that they will 'outplay their contract'?
    and
    B) Do you not believe it is clearly evident that many of our actions the latter part of this season have revolved around LTS - rather than for 'basketball reasons'?

I believe that if Morey wasnt making a concerted effort to stay below the cap, he would have tried to parlay our remaining mle into a higher dollar long term contract for House - thereby allowing him to spend next years exceptions on retaining who he could of Faried, House, and Rivers...

c'mon, Tinman... yer better than this... ;)

Faried and Rivers are more important than House

To me House is Troy Williams part two

He gets homer points for being from Texas

Tillman is not cheaper than Les
He’s inherited Chris Paul’s big contract

Troy never contributed to the team to level House has - not even close... Troy was a shooter - period (and not even a very good one)... House is a defender and has some offensive skills... apples and oranges...

I dont think House is some superstar - he's a decent role player who just really fits our system extremely well... I hold him in the same regard as Faried or Rivers... neither are superstars and neither are min contract guys - under normal situations...

I never said Tilman was cheap... I think he's looking down the barrel of the Hardens SuperMax + CP3's remaining years + CC's contract going forward... and knows he needs to get below the LT this year or hemorrhage LT + huge repeater taxes in the future... this is probably the last opportunity to get below for the next 3 years... its a smart financial move...

yer really swinging wild and blind today my man... ;)

There's been a lot of anti-Tilman threads lately

I hope you're right and he doesn't turn into just another overrated player Clutchfans loves
cause you know how we love to overrate players

most 'fans' are like children - they just want - and refuse to acknowledge the financial ramifications or the need for fiscal responsibility... They say "it's not my money" - and then get all twisted when actions are taken by the guy who's money it does belong to...

I think House is going to be a Beverly type find... not a superstar but a scrappy solid competitor who can carve out a respectable career...

Beverly had a great reputation for defense and playing in the European league
House has had a good reputation in summer league and g league and considered a legit nba player now

I’m not going to predict a Patrick Beverly level find just yet

C'mon Tinman, Troy couldn't play a lick of defense even if his life depended on it. Besides, their games are dissmilar. One is a guard, the other a forward.

I think House is a pretty dependable 2-way player.

I don't see an army of people here with blind loyalty to the org, or anti-House butthurtness. I do see a lot of sarcasm and posters mocking each other. I'm definitely guilty of that.

I don't care that people have opinions I just get sick of hearing them 20x a day. Enjoy the moment.

I think there were so many people throwing the org under the bus for not signing House that some people (me) reacted by arguing with those people. And now there's a third reaction - House fans assuming people defending the org are anti-House.

    It's a complicated world.

In the end, everyone here just wants the Rockets to win. I realize that's true for the people who constantly preach (fabricate?) anti-Tilman narratives. And that means everyone should want House to do well. It's the arguing about whose future prophecies are more correct that leads to the division.

I saw some dude on here saying that if House was on a tanking team he’d be a borderline star

Is overrating House gonna be a thing on here?

How much does everyone think he will be offered?

Because I think it is somewhere between 12-20 mill for 4 years.

I like House, I just feel it's too early to make any kind of judgement on how good he is. It's hard to tell after the small sample of games and his one game back.

    But it looks promising.

Plenty of people on GARM has hated on House solely for the fact that he wanted specific things when it came to getting a deal done. And now they're betting against him for that reason and want to see him fail. Maybe they dont see him as part of the team, but the haterade is obvious between the lines.

My ego is not as big. I admit my problem when I went against signing PJ. Morey has made plenty of moves that made me question him, which ended up being slam dunks and made me eat crow. I don't care about taking an L on my bets. A lot of people on GARM apparently have a problem with that.

I can't take it. The attitude of being more excited to dunk all over the "House haters" rather than legitimately being happy for House, or being happy for the Rockets. The multiple new threads after every game, it's unbearable.

    Mercy, please.
