Too proven, Nimo. Players with things to prove only please. Also must be willing to take 20-25% below market value. Preferably 30%
Very confused with Gaine game plan. I’m not saying go ball out n spend on big names but some legit players went for Low. I don’t want 4 rookie O line man n off the street guys. U can always find a way to get out of big contracts. Why the hell are the eagles always spending? Look at a lot of the teams that won or made the super bowl, they had key additions that year. What will the excuse be when Watson is getting 25 mill a year / Hopkins highest paid and Watt gone...
This is the worst Texans offseason yet. I can’t freaking believe Darby is visiting the Chiefs and Verrett is visiting the 9ers and we have our thumb up our butt. I’m starting to think our GM sucks. What the hell are we doing?
Gaine wants to rebuild through the draft and normally I wouldn’t have a problem doing that except SOON the Texans will be paying Watson.
There were only 2 tackles. Both were overpaid. Remember how bad Nate Solder was last season. It is a deep draft for Tackles.
It’s not just about the tackles. We need interior line help and we need o-line depth. Plus being forced to draft for positional need means you can’t take the best player available. There are DB’s and offensive linemen worth signing. But we are just gonna horde our cap space and wait for the draft? I’m so freaking mad.
I am sorry but unfortunately this is the hand we are dealt. They believe they know better than everyone else in the game and couple that with a non aggressive approach at the wrong times and aggressively pursuing overrated talent in desperation once they realize they have made a mistake. Unfortunately, these are their true colors.
Only if he doesn’t pass the 9ers physical. If he’s healthy he’s not leaving San Fran. I’m actually more upset about not going after Darby.
The Weddle deal pisses me off more than anything at the moment, only because we now know that they were gonna let HB and Kareem walk. Why the **** wouldnt you sign him for cheap if only for a year or two? At least you fill a void that you know you were going to have.
Verrett has ended up on IR 4 of the 5 seasons he’s been in the league and is coming off a torn Achilles to top things off. Imagine a Colts fan being pissed off that they didn’t bring in Kevin Johnson for a visit and how ridiculous that would sound to us. As for Darby, there has to be something going on. Top rated CB across the board but barely a peep on him so far. I too want to bring him in but there has to be a reason most teams are staying away.
If I felt that there were moves to be made that gets this team over the hump I would be with you. I just don't see it. This team is full of holes. Even if we signed Brown, Ju'Wuan James, Mathieu, and Darby we wouldn't have enough. It's not reasonable to think you can rebuild an entire offensive line and secondary in one off season. Not to mention we aren't strong at the TE, RB, or DT position. Our receiving core is Hopkins and fingers crossed Fuller and Coutee can stay on the field. Texans should be planning for 2020 and I think they are.
We have a visit set up with Jason Verrett. Would love if we could get him on a reasonable deal and fingers crossed he stays healthy.
The problem with the Texans entire approach is that by the time they plug a few holes with actual talent, they've wasted enough time to where holes have opened up somewhere else. Extrapolate that across 16 years, and here we are. They're a franchise that has NEVER put all 3 phases together at the same time.
Verrett has seen the field for less games in his career than Kevin Johnson. He's been in the league for longer (by a season), too. In the last three seasons, it's something like 5 games for Verrett to 15 for Johnson. Is that who we really want? I like that we're kicking the tires on someone, but will it really help the off-season if we trade an All-Injured Reserve player for a slightly more talented Hall of Fame Injured Reserve guy? I'd rather trade Clowney if we can get a reasonable price and build through the draft. I'm shocked Haha Clinton-Dix hasn't been signed, though. There's still some value out there, and quite honestly, aside from the failures on the offensive line, the O'Brien administration has gotten some good talent for good prices.
Texans want 1st round talent that have been failures so far. That seems like the new trend. Kind of like when Morey was going for Williams, Flynn etc.
