Interesting that we’re not hearing a lot on CB Ronald Darby. Everyone throwing $14M at safeties, maybe can lock in the best FA CB for less. He’s coming off a torn ACL but he’s a good CB.
With Watson/Hopkins on Offense and Watt/Clowney/McKinney/Cunningham/Reid we have a window to challenge for not only the division, but the Lombardi. However, we have to be players and take some chances so that in the end we are the team... "...who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat." We need some serious upgrades and there are some people that could provide those for us. Bell would give us potentially the best 3 play-makers tandem at their positions in the NFL. He could be transformative for this offense, especially if we improve the OL. We could trade Lamar for a draft pick and keep Foreman as the b/u. I loved signing HB, but frankly he wasn't as exciting as I hoped. I don't blame Gaine for passing on $14M per year. Reid is a playmaker and Hal is solid. Yes, I would love Thomas, but I'm afraid he'll want $15M now. I'd sign Kareem and let him focus on SS if we can get him at a reasonable price. CB is where we need to put some focus in FA and there are several to be had that can help. I'm betting Gaine has a plan and it may not be the splash we're all hoping for, but hopefully he's in the arena and is laser focused on who can help this team fight a tougher division than last year.
