I have a feeling we'll end up with Dalton Risner in the first, whether we stay put or trade back. He just seems like a Texans kind of pick.

If that’s the way we go then in Gaine we trust.

Have to admit might be the smartest move especially if we hit on the draft picks.

We are a very top heavy team and lack any true depth. We cannot continue to go in that direction. We all saw what happen to our secondary and WR positions when the injury bug hit imagine if miller would of had to miss extended period of time.

So I trust in Gaine and this organization in building this roster top to bottom.

If the Texans are looking to add a DT in this draft they should look at Khalen Saunders out of W. Illinois. Had a good combine and could probably be had in the 5th or 6th round.

You can also build depth by using fa. If you sign to starting caliber tackles then Davenport can be swing in years to come and Henderson depth this year. Same with cornerback. Go hard at Patrick Peterson trade and use remaining draft picks on bpa quality depth and special teams

No reason they couldn’t trade back and still accomplish all of that, maybe more. The Colts drafted 4 starters with their first 5 picks last season (4 of which were 2nd rounders) including 2 on the OL that absolutely stonewalled JJ, Clowney and company.

There's a big difference in the trade they got, trading #3 for #6 and two 2's etc.... vs trading down from 23 to say 32 and the compensation the Texans will get.

Are you an insider or just guessing what Gaine's going to do like the rest of us?

I really like this kid. I hope we grab him. It'd have to be in the third, though.

Sure. Point being that trading back doesn't preclude us from finding the "2-3 starters" the posters were wanting.

The point is what are the odds of Gaine finding starters as good as Nelson, Leonard? That's the team that added the premium talent that the Texans are competing with. There's a big difference between finding guys who can start and adding premium starters like Nelson, Leonard.

I thought Gaine was the 3rd round genius. They should just trade down for 10 3rd round picks and call it a day

    ;)

The odds are relatively the same whether we stay at 23 or move down a few spots IMO. Hell maybe they’re a little better if we can squeeze out 2nd or 3rd by moving down some.

Btw, not advocating that we should trade out of the 1st or anything. But if the top 4 OT are gone and Texans aren’t in love with anyone at #23, I wouldn’t be opposed to moving down some and getting a little extra capital. Maybe they really like a guy like Risner but think he’ll be there at the end of the first.

One of Ford Jonah or Taylor will be on the board at 23 and I think it’s Ford

If Ford is there you gotta sprint up to the podium and take him.
