It's on ESPN+, so I get my 7 days free trial and watched the episode. Some main points Kobe is making in this show are: 1. Clint Capela's ability to run the floor in fast break puts enormous amount of pressure on the defense, and opens up space for the shooters. Harden's capability to read the defense and make laser like passes in open court, along with Capela and the shooters make the Rockets most dangerous in transition. 2. Harden has super deceptive looks when making decisions in high pick&roll situations. Kobe used several clips from the 76ers games to show how Harden used his eyes to fool and freeze the help defender, so Clint and Nene had wide open lanes to the hoop for easy dunks. 3. Harden should add some post moves so when he catch the ball in the low post, he can make quick decisions and punish the defender immediately. If Harden is able to attack smaller defender in the low post, the Rockets will be extremely dangerous because he can really suck in the defense and open up all the space for the shooters. 4. Harden should try more to move from behind the defense rather than in front of the defense, because it will be harder for the defenders to know where the most dangerous offensive players is, and when he shows up, it can create chaos and miscommunications in defense which leads to easy looks for Harden himself and his teammates. How do you like Kobe's analysis? Do you think it has any valid points?
I don't believe in the detail curse I believe the harden is playing with a hurt wrist curse . I also know Hardens foul trouble played a large part in his performance today
Michael Jordan, Gary Payton, Garnett and Bryant share the record for most NBA All-Defensive first team selections with nine
He does make a good point. Harden needs to learn how to play off the ball to CP3. He did for a bit in OKC but he has basically forgotten that skillset. All he does is stand around on the wing and wait for something to happen or for CP3 to pass him the ball. There are situations like tonight when your shot is completely cold and you're in foul-trouble plus they're doubling you every play. Harden needs to rely on CP3 to handle the ball while he plays off-ball or post up for an easy 2 (**** Moreyball).
I don't understand your post. What is a Kobe stans? Do you mean Kobe fans? Are you implying that I am a Kobe/Lakers fan? Are you implying that I view Kobe as a God of basketball and that I am threatened by Harden??? What does any of that have to do with my question? I just want opinions on weather Kobe in his prime or James Harden right now, who everyone thinks is better. FYI, I never even watched the Lakers unless by default we were playing them.
I saw that too...I think is was the day after Kobe played his last game, scored 60. Kimmel seemed amazed... he thought Kobe would pick a Warrior.
Kobe wasn’t a deserving first team all nba defender for 9 seasons, he probably wasn’t for any of them. He can thank ESPN telling everyone how great he was for that. He’s like the Derek Jeter of basketball. Made that great dive into the stands to catch a foul ball and was called a great defensive SS for the rest of his career. Dude played 20 seasons, he was probably solid for half of that, terrible for most of the rest, and really good for a couple years.
