Lets see, hows that quote go? "Both sides are to blame"? btw, the House resolution passed 407 to 23. Every Democrats voted for it, as did all republicans. All, except 23 republican congressman who apparently don't think hate against any religious group (including Jews) or any race is wrong. And why did those 23 republicans not support the resolution? Pure partisanship. Unless, of course, those 23 are anti-Semites or racists? And, also btw, republican congressman steve king didn't vote for that resolution.
She is not single. She is dating a bike courier, judging by the photos: https://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity/a25844313/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-boyfriend-riley-roberts/ Why is everybody going to go after them if it is going to get them nuked? Israel is a fearsome opponent without the US' help.
If you recall during the first Gulf War, the US had to strong arm Israel from retaliating from all of the SCUD attacks. I dont like the intervention, but the US is what keeps the whole middle east from becoming a complete all out war zone. The idea of toppling dictators to install democracy is silly and naive. Much like China, its much better to give a country a economical reason not to goto war. We should do the same with NK. Joe Rogan had a podcast with Jack Dorsey. One of the discussions was forever banning people from the platform. The suggestion goes if you ban an individual forever from what is currently the 'public' platform, you are sending them to the dark edges of the internet to become even more radicalized. Cutting countries loose or trying to pound them into economical sanctions only further radicalizes these countries.
I get it and you might even be right. But I don't think it needs to be our responsibility to keep a lid on the Middle East.
The House resolution was a sham and you know exactly why. Here is one of the Jewish member of Congress explain why in case you didn't know
Yes, I know why republicans are exploiting the idea of antisemitism for partisan purposes... if making a statement against religious bigotry was the focus they would have voted for the House resolution. But their complaints... wanting to single out the congresswoman from MN and to falsely associate Democrats with antisemitism. Again, spell out the partisan reasoning. One of the authors of the House resolution: btw, perhaps it should give people pause that rep zeldin is one of only two Jewish republican representatives (David Kustoff being the other... and he voted for the resolution). There are 25 Jewish Democrats in the House. They all voted for the resolution.
Again the resolution completely useless. Never does it call out or crackdown on specific instances of anti-Semitism from within their party's own elected official ranks.
I think the piece cited in the other thread gets it pretty much right: Pelosi backed down. She blinked.
Let me introduce you to what a simple resolution is and does... https://www.house.gov/the-house-explained/the-legislative-process/bills-resolutions Anywhere in that description does the words "call out" or "crack down" on specific instances of anti-Semitism from within their party's own elected official ranks? I understand your only concern is getting at the Democratic congresswoman from MN. I understand you only want to attack Democrats. But if you wanted the House of Representatives to make a direct statement against bigotry towards religion (Jewish, Christian, Muslim or any other) then the House resolution clearly spoke out. It specifically condemns anti-Semitism and specifically rejected the anti-Semitic stereotype about dual loyalty, especially related to Israel (which seems to me, the statement that the congresswoman fro MN is accused of saying. All Democrats signed the bill. Including the congresswoman from MN. 23 republicans did not... including steve king. You should focus your anger at them.
Legend your proud boy/Nazi types are The WSJ editorial page has for years been Fox News with a slightly more intelligent gloss. The news part of the WSJ is at least normally fact based, though biased toward Econ 101 market fundamentalist economics, that the average business reader accepts uncritically as proven.
This resolution was in response to Illhan Omar's inaccurate comments about Jews and Israel. Why wasn't Illham Omar condemned or punished? Why did the resolution mention white supremacy? Looks to me this resolution was a way to avoid Illham Omar and actual root of the problem. Btw I know you like to bring up Steve King. Steve King was removed from his committee assignments after making racist comments and then there was a House resolution passed against white supremacy in January. The resolution was passed unanimously.
Ehhh I don't know about that............ Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Iran..... Afghanistan and there are others........... we have made an absolute mess in the Middle East.
I don't like our meddling as much as the next guy but let's not act like everything is/was/or would be great without the U.S. meddling.
