Another WR that the Texans should take a look at is Minnesotas Tyler Johnson. 6'2 200 lbs with good range. They could probably get him in the later rounds(5-6). I also like Paris Campbell.
Some interesting points above that we have to consider as we project OL draft candidates... - HOU Staff believes more in their line than the fans; I think the resigning of Henderson to another 1-year deal is insurance for Gaine and I think he believes that the guy can play. OT is a spot that we have to draft at least one player in either 1st or 2nd, and maybe another in 5th or 6th. If Davenport and Henderson are the likely starters, we probably look for rookies that can fill the swing OT role--hence they have to have experience on both sides. - HOU Staff values versatility in OL; I love Risner and believe he could be our RT for a decade, however, he probably can't play LT, but has experience at C, so maybe that provides the versatility they seek. My assumption is that Jonah Williams, Jawaan Taylor and Cody Ford are all drafted before our pick. Here's my preference for OTs or my projections for OT that should be available with our 1st or 2nd: RD 1 Candidates: 1. Dalton Risner: Rugged/Nasty RT who can open holes in run game and stop bull rushers in their tracks. Could have trouble with speed rushers, but handled 4.41 Sweat ok. 2. Chris Lindstrom: Simply solid OL who can probably be a plug-in-play RG on Day 1. Has played RT and has the size and athletic ability to potentially play there. 3. Yodny Cajuste: Has athletic skills for LT, but enough power to start on right side as a rookie. Stout anchor and good length/power, but needs to clean up some technique. RD 2 or 3 Candidates: 1. Michael Dieter: Versatile starter at C/LG/LT, but he just looks like a big mauler RT type. His arm length is below optimal (33 1/8), but he has big hands (10 3/4). 2. Bobby Evans: Started at both LT/RT in college. Good arm size 34 3/4 and nasty streak (from Texas). 3. Tytus Howard: Great size and superior athletic ability (HS QB/Hoopster); very raw from a technique standpoint, but has starting experience at both LT and RT. 4. Max Sharping: Played both LT/RT, has great size, arm length is only 33 5/8. Played at smaller school, but has some talent. Personally, if we could some how get Risner and Lindstrom to play RT and RG I'd be thrilled, however, they both seem to be late 1st to early 2nd round picks.
I don’t think they like the OL as much as they let on, especially Davenport at LT. They went after Soldier pretty hard so we know Davenport wasn’t plan A. They then threw Rankin in as soon as they possibly could which lends me to believe he wasn’t plan B either. In either case, don’t think his play changed their minds a whole lot. But agreed that Gaines seems to like Henderson a lot, enough to pencil him in at RT. Notice you didn’t mention Dillard. I’m assuming he’ll be long gone along with those other guys though.
I like Edwards and Benzschawel, but not that early. I thought Edwards had great potential, but the more I read, the more he sounds like a project. Davenport is "project" enough. I think Howard might provide greater risk/reward as a project. Beau is strong as hell and a classic RG prospect for our kind of run game, but he has balance issues, overextends, and has tight hips, which could be trouble in pass pro. Perfect pick in the later rounds.
Good points on Soldier and Rankin. I'm still blown away by the Rankin move, couple that with Dav not adapting to RT spelled disaster. Yes, I intentionally didn't mention Dillard because I'm split on him. I hear the great things from Senior Bowl and Combine, which are positives, but depending on who scouts him he could be a top 20 pick or somewhere after the 100 best players in the draft. In a nutshell several draft gurus (that I like) see problems with the pass heavy scheme he was in at Washington. They believe because its a quick set pass, he didn't have to deal with 5-7 ft drops, so he's lacking in some of the experience and techniques needed in the NFL. Second, he's got little experience blocking for the run game, especially one like the Texans. They like his length, smooth feet, but caution about his core strength and scheme experience. In sum, he seems like a boom or bust guy and as mentioned before more of a project than we need on our OL next year,
So: 23 Cody Ford OT/G (Dalton Risner OT) (Byron Murhpy CB) 54 Lonnie Johnson CB (Travon Mullen CB) 55 Joejuan Williams CB (Kaleb McGary OT) 86 Eric Mcoy OG/C (Iman Marshall CB) (Isaiah Johnson CB)

Cajuste has horrid, heavy slow feet. In most of the film I've watched he ends up leaning way over because he can't move his feet quickly enough to keep up with college guys. The only thing that terrifies me as much is starting the season with a penciled in Henderson Davenport tandem.
I dont see this at all, he allowed very little pressure and was physical in the run game. He needs some technique work with hand placement etc... but he's got talent. The only reason I worry about him on the Texans is his lower body injury history which is quite extensive.
