I know that, but I can't be the only one who thinks (Tax aside), that House would be a steal at 3.5 over 3 years. Rotational players/possible starters for that cheap are gold!

He only played for LITERALLY 1 minute.
I think we owe him, what. $12.89?

We can sign House equivalent to $2.3m right now (v his current $1.5m offer).

Recall, all BimaThugs previous salary calculations were how to sign a Buyout and House and stay under. Without a buyout, the room available can be given to House

By my math, it works like this:
    • Per Spotrac, we have $709,694 to spend
    • $2.302m prorated for 40 more days = $520,211 for ROS
    • Cut TJones
    • Sign Chiozza to a rookie ROS for 40 days = $189,483
    • $520,211 + $189,483 = $709,694
    • voila :D
This assumes Capela doesn't realize all three of his incentive bonuses, and the DREB% one seems out of the question. This allows for WCF and REB% incentive to get paid.

For him to be playoff eligible, the last day of the season.

    Actually there is.
A sign and trade is the only way, similar to the way Houston acquired CP.
Butler has a player option at $19 mill that he could pick up only if Houston promises him a max deal.
It would cost Nene, Gordon, and a future 1st to get it done. I’m sure you’re wondering why Philly would do this, simple, they don’t have a choice. If Philly says no than Butler walks while Philly gets nothing for him. I’m sure Philly would love to replace Covington, Saric, and the 1st round picks they traded away when they acquired Butler and Tobias.
If this does happen Houston will finally have its big 4 along with their very own Igoudala.

    Chris Paul/Austin Rivers
    James Harden/Iman Shumpert
    Jimmy Butler/Gerald Green
    PJ Tucker/Gary Clark
    Clint Capela/Kenneth Faried

Besides adding Butler I think Houston’s priority will be to bring back Rivers and Manimal who are only eligible for MLE contracts. Yes you will be heavily frontloaded but the best teams are and as long as you have a BACKUP PG FOR CP3 than I’m cool with this roster.

Of course it’s a wasted year my friend. Harden is in his prime and only getting older along with Chris Paul. Yea I know Harden isn’t very old but injuries do happen and we’ve seen how age affected CP at the beginning of the year. It took more than half a season for CP to get his legs from up under him, that’s something that can’t happen even though it will. Every year in sports is precious because every year guys age and loose a step.
