The moment we sign him (or convert him) to a standard NBA contract, he's available. March 24th date is when he's available under his 2-way contract, ie, in the event we don't sign him/convert him.
After the trade deadline I thought for sure LAC would buy out Wilson Chandler. Didn't see a role on that team for him and didn't see why they would keep his bird rights (whereas there is a reason for JaMychal Green there). BUT, I don't sense a buyout. LAC probably wants to make sure LAL doesn't sign any potential LAC buyouts to help them in their playoff push.
I dunno, I'm sure Clutchfans could find someone inconsequential and still pressure to pay lux tax for them.
Our 10 player rotation is set and no one better than those 10 will be available. Of course injuries can change that but right now our best 10 guys should be able to play.
The biggest (and only?) name is only Pau Gasol. Kinda expected today to be more exciting than that...
tilman breathes a huge sigh of relief while concurrently pondering where exactly to spend the lux tax bonanza he'll be receiving from the taxpayer teams now. tilman perhaps goin to disneyland?
So... I know guys who weren't bought out but weren't with a team can still join us.. Guys like Jimmer and such, but I really hope this helps us pull the trigger on Danuel, I'm just afraid he won't even take the MLE offer.
This Houston team isn’t in it to win it this year. Ownership and GM are already looking forward to next season. It’s been said already that Houston fees good about their chances with Butler. This year is a wasted year and that’s it.
MLE offer? i don't think morey can pay more than the minimum for sure w/o going back into the lux tax
