The Rockets "not trying on defense tonight" is false

    I saw very few actually lazy possessions. The majority was the heat's athleticism. With the injuries to Faried and EGO of course the D is gonna drop off. Our starting lineup is just not very athletic and doesn't match up well with the Heatle's.

    A player like Danuel House, would of course help with this lack of athleticism...

    Man Nene don't have any business making passes out of the post.

    Nene made that pass on to the wrong team, and dwade stole the ball.

    I agree that Daniel house would help, but a 10 day contract renewal is the only option with 6 weeks left in the season.

    i think it was a combo of that and them still being undisciplined. You don’t allow 70 points in a half without that.

    Yeah... The Rockets are terrible at closing out it seems. That is all effort. The D has been and will continue to be subpar this year.

    Ohhhhh, it's not that the Rockets weren't trying, it's that they are not athletic enough. That's one of your more optimistic posts, OP. With Jeremy Lin House tacked on at the end.

    They were some mismatches that they exploited, but our perimeter and interior defense was weak. I agree with your post.

    We need every Athletic Wing that means

    House, Clark, GG, EG, Shumpert, of course James. Guys like Shump need to be able to go at a guy hard on Defense but be backed up by another aggressive wing coming behind him.

    What it will take to win the title will take so much from us defensively we need to have the wings to compete. 9 man rotation has to be on the table

    Our match up problems with the Heat are athleticism AND length.

    Especially when defending, you could see the likes of; Winslow, Richardson, Adebayo, and White were executing the 2-3 zone defense pretty well for a good stretch in the 3rd quarter. That is up until we finally figured out that their needed to be a guy posted at the FT line in order to be able to penetrate that defense.

    They backed off that approach for most of the 4th, with little tastes here and there. I'm sure I don't need to even mention the boards and points in the paint battle that the Heat were winning decisively up until we made that 4th quarter run.

    Ultimately this was a fantastic job of D'Antoni being able to out chess another coach along with James Harden performing as the true Megastar that he is.
