I still have that album. Someone stole it from me during a party one time and then a few years later I find one at a record store in Portland, Oregon. Can't remember how much I paid for it though. Edit: Can't forget about The Hates
I would classify them as New Wave, which I would say isn't actually Punk. But I could be wrong. To my understanding there is a feeling of rage and frustration to Punk not present in New Wave, which is a little more overtly approachable. Bands wearing matching cardigans aren't very Punk. Going extremely obscure with this one: Special honorable mention for Iggy and the Stooges - Raw Power, which was proto-Punk about five or six years before anybody else caught on and Punk became Punk. It is one of my all-time favorite albums:
