It literally started with TDS and evolved into insanity.

Idk how the citizenship question will play out in this specific persons case but your assertion that she is automatically a citizen by virtue of being born here is not factually correct.

You can be born here and not recieve citizenship. I’m sure it happens all the time.

    I heard that
    * she was born in the US and
    * she had a US passport

I did make the assumption that the US State Department would not give her a passport if she was not a US citizen. I also made the assumption that she got the citizenship via the Fourteenth Amendment. Both assumptions were true. I did not think that it mattered if her father was diplomat or not. That was my bad.

In this case, that point does not matter. That is the opinion of the US Sate Department circa 2004 (Thanks W!)

For the 16 year MAGA twit, I am pretty sure that most comments were prefaced by "if true ,.." That might be too subtle for you.

For the 15 year ISIS bride, I am not defending her. I think that she is a US citizen (given that is what her passport says) and she has the right to come back to the US. If she comes back, she will likely be thrown in jail. But hey that is her call.

I didn't say anyone "should" have citizenship stripped. Even if Trump is totally guilty and his ass was ultimately nailed to the wall, I'd think stripping citizenship would be a weird and irrelevant thing to do. Might be cruel and unusual since it would leave him stateless. Standard prison stuff would serve fine. Same for this girl. I don't see any reason to strip citizenship. But, I recognize more things are possible once you have a conviction for something like treason.

I don’t get the stripping of citizenship. Isn’t that giving up your responsibility to deal with the matter within your laws?

Go to trial where all the arguments can be made. Not sure why it should be any different than any other law breaking activities.

What I don’t want to see is the public making these decision, or any person or institution without a trial.

A naturalized US citizen can, in very specific situations, be de-naturalized and deported.

A natural-born US citizen cannot, per the Constitution, have their citizenship revoked involuntarily. Full stop, end of story.

Any opinion on the American girl being a citizen based on what we know?

    This is simple.

    Option 1
Sure, c'mon back and the second you step foot on US soil or any countries we have extradition treaties with you will be charged with terrorism, treason, or whatever charges she has opened herself up to by joining ISIS. Also, we will review our laws and attempt to strip your citzenship and throw you in Guantanamo Bay for the rest of your life.

    Option 2
You can stay where you are.

    Option 3
Here is a phone number for a law enforecement/intelligence/military contact. If you have highly actionable information that we can use on Isis or another terrorist organization we may be able to negotiate a lesser sentence upon your return to the US. You MIGHT be able to see sunlight one day.

As far as the baby goes...If your husband somehow wins his litigation claiming his son is a US citizen then we will deal with that in 6 years after it works its way through our courts. Let us know your decision.

Don't you mean victim of ISIS? Oh that's right, you judge 1 billion people on the action of a few.

Guess that makes all right-wingers racists.

Yes, I do judge an entire religion based on a few people: the few main characters of the Koran, Hadiths, and early Islamic history.

There is only one case where you are not a citizen and that is if you born to a diplomat with diplomatic immunity. I am guessing it is very small number of people it applies to.

Do you feel the same way towards Christianity, applying your logic?

Judging a religion is quite different than making assumptions about individuals because that was the religion they were born into.

If you just left it at criticism of religion, hardly anyone besides Islamic apologists would have severe qualms with it . But we all know that isn't the case for you .

You once argued that nations like Pakistan would be better off without Islam.

    How far you have fallen.
