that was probably me...my favorite podcast right now and ive been singing its praises whenever i can. i only checked into this thread b/c i saw that bruceandre had just posted and i knew he would be making some crazy argument here. ...he did not disappoint! ...i mean, wow! its hard to believe that people who think this way actually exist, but here we are! his posts on just the last couple pages are pretty shocking to read in 2019!
Just for the record, there were multiple police reports over decades by people who had no inkling that the others existed. Each time the police reports were buried by police or DA's, because nobody wanted to bring a rape case against "America's Most Beloved Pitchman" or Cliff Huxtable or whatever other manicured image of himself he had concocted. Also in the sealed 2004 testamony, which was unsealed because he violated the NDA, Cosby admitted to giving multiple women large numbers of quaaludes from multiple prescriptions that he never used himself ever specifically so that he could have sex with them. Not sure what more evidence you need than the man's own words. In court he believed "I gave them so many quaaludes that they couldn't say no, therefore it wasn't rape" was a legitimate defense.
that seems to me a huge dereliction of duty on law enforcement, it seems they did not do any investigation before arresting the guy.
Hey fatty, when your lone supporter is bruceandre, you should probably reconsider the fact that you are horribly wrong.
Well, it is one component of evidence. But that's if you believe they are telling the truth. To my eyes, they looked like a lynch mob. Everyone says, "how could so many women get into court and lie?" or "How could Blasey Ford go in front of Congress and lie?" The answer is mental illness, and/or the promise of fame/payouts.
Uhhhhh….. we are in the D&D? I didn't start this thread, nor determine its placement. And I'm not sure why or what you are calling "garbage." Everything in that Temple case, at least, is empirically true and substantiated.
I'll concede that I hadn't heard of all this, but there are still questions, just based on your text above. There were police reports. Ok, what was in them? If we don't know, why cite them? Cosby says he gave women Quaaludes. Ok was that against their will? Did he trick them? Did the women willingly take them as "party favors"? Again not clear. And that is why if a "victim" is truly interested in justice, you don't wait 2 or 3 decades to press your case.
Uhhh.....it was in the Hangout until it was moved to the D&D yesterday afternoon. And by garbage I mean your views on politics and women.
"No need to go heeled to get the bulge on a tub like you." so despite not knowing the full story you have decided that the judge and jury got it wrong and cosby was wrongfully convicted by a lynch-mob of PC liberals? im starting to think that bruceandre is playing a character here...there is no way this dude can be for real! new yorker, is that you???
It like saying, "what evidence is there aside from all the victim's blood on his clothes?" Aside from the evidence, there is no evidence. You may not be aware, but we have this trial by jury system in this country in which we charge the jurors to judge and weigh the credibility of the witnesses and other evidence and to make a decision about the facts of the case and whether the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. To your eyes, they looked like a lynch mob, but you weren't a juror on the case so it doesn't matter. Twelve people actually sat and listened to the whole damn case and made a decision about how credible the witnesses were. They apparently decided the women's credibility in total was beyond any reasonable doubt. Making up reasons for why and how these women would be lying, and why and how people must be ignoring the witnesses' credibility issues looks to me like your entirely pitching any faith you may have had in the American judicial system so that you can maintain some ridiculous plausible deniability of the fact that maybe sometimes men really do rape women.
Ugh. Unreadable block of text is unreadable. Just to reiterate my point, I'm dubious of any charge that comes 20-30 plus years later. I'll grant this: unlike the Me-Too movement, at least Cosby's accusers went through the legal system. Although they had to effectively place him in double jeopardy to convict him. Also, so 12 jurors convicted him. It went through the system. Fine. How many innocent death row inmates have been exonerated by DNA years later? They too were convicted by a jury. Jury verdicts aren't always correct. Juries are made of people. People get inflamed by horrific charges, and look for someone to convict. People make errors. Juries make errors. As an aside, all the more reason not to find yourself in that situation in the first place. In courtrooms these days, men are guilty until proven innocent. And often, evidence of innocence is not allowed.
No, you wanted it in D&D. It's in D&D. Hey, if someone posts a political thread outside D&D, is that my fault? I didn't start the thread. What you are really offended by is a discussion that is outside your acceptable parameters of discussion. But if we don't break outside that -- the Overton window -- what are we doing here?
