Good post. Whatever one thinks of the politicking going on, there is a growing "problem" (or "crisis") at the border, and that can't be dismissed out of hand.

And then there are the caravans. And no, they won't stop until we control the border better/more efficiently.

 

Democrats are going to look very bad if they do this. They might have public sentiment on their side now (maybe), but they won't if they override Trump.

 

Yeah....insulting people always helps make one's case (not).

This isn't even close to a crisis, it's a manufactured crisis created by a fear-mongerer who can't even be bothered to read his own intelligence briefings much less have a nuanced understanding of illegal immigration. It's amazing how some of you still can't see this and continue to get bamboozled by this clown president.

 

Immigrants asking for asylum at the border is up significantly. And, without giving TMI, I've seen it personally. That at least says there is a real issue at the border that needs addressing.

 

Did you miss the caravans? You must have seen that right?

Also, as I just posted, I've personally seen asylum seekers at the border -- that in former times, were not there. There is *something* happening at the border, I've seen it first hand.

Now, how one chooses to characterize what's going on is another thing ....

 

That is better addressed by hiring more judges and personnel to more quickly sort through the applications. A wall won't stop asylum seekers.

 

Poor Ann Coulter.....she'd make a man a fine wife someday.

 

It will have some effect. Who's to say that someone who is seeking asylum won't just decide to sneak in, and get around the whole process?

 

That's all anecdotal, I travel to El Paso for work pretty frequently and have noticed absolutely nothing different from the past. The number of people crossing the border is down overall and the statistics continue to show it. You staring an asylum seeker in the face, or whatever, doesn't change that.
