Yes, of course you are correct. But even Chinese-Americans have a reputation for being into gambling...

Lin signed with the Raptors at about 5:30pm today, and then he was dressed and played with the team 2hrs later against the Wizards. Pretty respectable performance considering how little time he had to even just meet his teammates. Ended up with 8pts on 3 of 7 shooting, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 TOs, 1 ST, 1 BLK and +10 in about 25 minutes on the night. His teammates looked like they welcomed him and played well with him. A good start!

last time he tried to contribute for a title contender during a playoff series it didn't go well, not very well.

Don't think Jeremy Lin ever played on a title contender, the 2013/14 rockets had a respectable record but come on, they weren't a title contending team (not ready to be one yet). They had the same record as the Portland team they lost to and was a 4th seed. If I remembered correctly even James Harden had his troubles during that series.

That's actually even worse if you don't think Rockets weren't contenders while he committed that costly turn over let alone playing bad. Can you imagine what he would do for a real title contender in crucial situations?

A good article about Lin's arrival in Toronto:

    https://www.thestar.com/sports/rapt...s-just-in-time-with-raptors-short-handed.html

    Excerpt:
"So Lin passed his last medical checkpoints, and they gave him the Etch-A-Sketch course in the team’s walkthrough, the basics. He stayed late with fellow new acquisition Marc Gasol, watched some video, went to chapel with other God-fearing players and came off the bench. Raptors guard Fred VanVleet underwent surgery on his injured thumb Wednesday and could miss five weeks rather than three. So Lin would play.

And he was fine. He was a little jumbled, naturally, but also found some plays with teammates that worked. He was on the floor when the Raptors, led by Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, dragged the game out of the doldrums with energy and execution. He played the zone that Gasol wasn’t ready for in his Saturday debut, and tried to play with energy. He was given a long run. He watched the end, and the Raptors won.

And when he came into the game he got a warm standing ovation, like the one Gasol got Monday. Lin has always been loved here."

Even though it's been one game, I'm glad he did well.

It'll be interesting to see how the dynamic works though, when FVV gets back from injury.

FVV is out at least 5 weeks now... I guess it all depends on how Lin plays in these 5 weeks. But objectively, Lin is a taller, better defender and better at attacking the rim. With Valenciunas traded, Lin should be a better fit but both him and FVV can play the SG role so most likely they will share some PT together
