ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Timberwolves 2/13/2019

Anybody else think that the Rockets might be kind of comfortable with where they are in the standings? One down or up and it is still Portland in the first round. Up or down and the first round is a lot more challenging.

 

When every game counts, you can't rest your best player.

Plus, he just has to play one more game until resting for a long time. I doubt he's going to get much burn in the ASG, but even if he does, it'll be because Harden wants to hoop. He knows his shoulder best.

 

Even though it’s very unlikely we should still be fighting tooth and nail for that 3 seed. A 4-5 seed is virtually a playoff ender, with a first round matchup vs Utah (not Portland, all projections have Utah beating Portland in the standings) before a second round execution at the hands of GSW and all their Dabbing Kids. OKC is safely in the 3, and Portland-SAS in the 6-7.

We are the wildcards. If we show that we are the 2017-2018 Rockets for the last two months of the season we can definitely steal that 3 seed.

Hell no. The Rockets need to do everything they can to move up to 2nd or 3rd. The last thing they want is to have Golden State in the Semifinals. And then OKC waiting for them in the WCF if they miraculously reach that point.

Utah would be a tough fought series. But still , it's a great warmup for going GS.

I wouldn't mind that .

We are gonna face tough teams anyways . If we aren't ready to significant up our game starting round 1 .... then we are doomed regardless .

The mindset has to be that we can and will beat anyone , anytime , anywhere .

Ideally, we move up to 3rd, OKC to 2nd and Denver gets knocked to 4th. IMO that would create the easiest path to the WCF. The primary goal would be to avoid GS for as long as possible.

But that’s all irrelevant atm. I’d just like to make it to the playoffs healthy and stay that way throughout.

 

I pose the same question as before last game. Will we avenge our embarrassing choke against them earlier in the season?
