Lol you're the only one who hates Trae Young. Lin fans knew he was the the future and no one even said Lin should start over Young lmao. At rhis point you're even more toxic than LOFs

Raptors have 1 spot left. They should sign Vince Carter as well if they're going all in

7 pages already.. smh. Just came here to said Toronto has a large Asian (I think mostly from Hong Kong) population. Might be the key reason for both him and the Raptor.

I've never had a problem with Jeremy Lin (and in fact, as an Asian-American dude, I completely hope he succeeds because diversity is always good!) The problem is the toxicity that comes along with him, people crying "racism" or looking for other ridiculous reasons why Jeremy hasn't made an all-star team. I doubt it affects any players or staff of a team that he's on, but it sure affects the team's fanbase. I don't think I'm somebody who gets easily annoyed but even I get exasperated as f*ck when dealing with those weirdo fans sometimes.

Now, I do know a portion of Lin fans who have grown to love basketball because of him and found a team to settle down with, but for the most part they follow him around like a typhoon of hot takes and poor analysis. Jeremy is a grown-ass man who can defend himself. He doesn't need a bunch of rabid keyboard warriors waiting to pounce on anybody critical of "their guy".

But one thing's certain. He sure generates online traffic, even today.

Doesn't change the fact that you do nothing but spew hate and by any definition are toxic as they come.

Player only fans don’t belong on team sites
Their opinions are not real opinions just statesments of insecurity

    They are the true haters
They hate the fact team fans have realistic opinions

    Bravo
Spoken like a real basketball fan

We got Chris Paul and when CP3 start playing bad, the fans here said it

There’s no insecure population of fans who oppose a realistic view of his play

Chris Paul, an all star , doesn’t come with a cult of internet spammers

This site is for Rockets fans who want to hear other Rockets fans opinions
Not for Lin fans who make up fake stories that they are Rockets fans in order to reply to every person who doesn’t think Lin is some god like figure

It’s funny because no one has mentioned racism in this thread at all.

The love of the rockets fans will defeat the hate of the truth by the Lin trolls

I was trying to be as objective as possible explaining where I believe some of the disdain towards Jeremy Lin comes from. Nowhere in my post did I mention that anyone brought up racism in this thread. I don't see how my observation is "funny" or how it could seem like I was trying to be funny.

There's no need to nitpick my post to try to discredit my opinion, or try to make it seem like I'm implying something when I'm really not. Here, I can TL;DR my post since it seems like you weren't inclined to read the whole thing: I LIKE JEREMY LIN, HE SEEMS LIKE A COOL GUY. HOWEVER, HIS FANS OFTEN ARE OVERZEALOUS, AND IT MAKES HIM LOOK BAD. HE DOESN'T NEED ANYBODY TO DEFEND HIM ONLINE BECAUSE HE CAN OBVIOUSLY TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF.

And here I am contributing to a thread that's already gone on for far too many pages. The very definition of insanity...

To be fair, there were some Lin fans saying Lin should start, but it was mostly in response to earlier in the season when the Hawks were getting outscored by 20+pts in the first quarter...which essentially made those games garbage time for 3 quarters. The argument was to have Lin start and bring Trae along slower until he was ready. But you are correct in that most Lin fans understood that Lin's role was really just to mentor Trae and give him a breather during the game, and that the Hawks were prioritizing Trae's development over any kind of winning. Lin getting bought out and signing with a team he wants to be on is the best outcome for Lin this season.
