Easiest one for me is Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home." Didn't like it as a teen, but these days I think it is great. (completely 80's video, btw)
UGH! I'm ashamed to say it.... Although I was a big fan of Pink Floyd at a very young age, I used to hate Dark Side of the Moon. It sounded much too hippy-ish. I especially loathed The Great Gig in the Sky. At some pont, something clicked and I suddenly loved the entire album immensely (including GGITS, which I like very much).
Only song by them that has had any lasting power with me is Comfortably Numb. I recall playing it everytime I would make out with an Astroworld chick back in '88.
When it first came out I found this song obnoxious and jarring. They played it so much though that I feel like I eventually got Stockholmed into liking it.
I used to hate this song! Luckenbach Texas is too close to San Antonio!! After many years of hating it, I put aside my disdain for it’s location and I’ve learned to love it! I mostly did it for Waylon, Willie and da boyz doe!! ....... ....... .......
I HAAATTTTEEDDD this song when it first come out. I thought I would hate the pixies based on it..but then I heard the rest of the album and it was pure greatness. Over time this song really grew on my and I like it a lot now.
"Mama" by Genesis. Too dark and weird at first. Just go with it. "The Fly" by U2. My ears weren't ready for the jarring change of pace. Didn't take long for me to like it, though, and the album it's from is probably one of my top three favorites of all time.
I didn't like Stairway to Heave at first but when I heard the rendetion of that song by Heart during the Kennedy Center honors, i've listening to led Zep ever since.
