he got a lot of deflections in the 2nd Q and forced some OKC turnovers. but at the end of the day he is just not efficient at putting the ball in the basket and has never been in his life, which will probably keep pringles from playing him a lot of minutes
Nah, I think he will get plenty of minutes by the time the playoffs roll around. The problem right now is that it is hard to go with Tucker and Shumpert both starting.
if i'm an opposing coach, he's the first guy i double off of and i just don't see him finishing plays for us at a decent enough clip on a consistent enough basis. he looked like the 2nd coming of rodrick rhodes out there tonite
He looked good defensively. I'm not worried about his offensive game as he's already a better creator than Ennis. Dude will hit a couple 3's here and there, maybe catch a lob. 15-18MPG and he can be very valuable. No reason to be pessimistic about the guy.
No one wants to hear this after a painful loss, but to me, the most striking thing in this game was Shumpert's defense. He's way better than I gave him credit for, especially at the stuff that's often unnoticed: being in the right place and denying his man the ball. If you gave me a win tonight and the Shumpert I expected, or a loss and the Shumpert I'm seeing for the rest of the season, I would take the latter. Having said that: Can some of our guys please learn to box out?
I thought Shumpert played well. He can defend like crazy. Not sure why the last inbounds play was designed for him to pass......or for Green to receive it...but that's on D'Antoni.
I thought there was a good 5-minute stretch where we had Shump/CP3/Rivers/Gordon /Nene where we were suffocating the ball in defense
Yep I agree. Right now the entire roster is 6'5... i think if we can miraculously pick up markieff morris this team would be ready!
Shumpert has not been the same since his early days with the Cavs. Before that he looked like he was a budding elite defender who can't shoot. Now he's just an okay to good defender who can't shoot.
