Well that explains it, thanks. I had no idea it was cut and dry like that.

Title chance reduces from May 47% to February 3%.
It has to some mistakes in term of wins.

Might not win 65 games again next 4 years.

Morey had a sh*t season, and Fertitta is a cheap skate. F*ck them. Clint should go all out.

They absolutely can get both. They can “get” House whenever the hell they want. He’s already theirs.

Think he might have meant, 'can the Rockets sign 'Kieff to the minimum, and convert House to a regular NBA minimum contract right now, while remaining under the luxury tax line?'

I thought I'd read you, or heypartner or nook citing you, stating that they could, but it'd be tricky with the timing?

FWIW, there is one player who could be signed to a rest-of-season (or multi-year) contract at a much lower tax hit than any other:

    Vincent Edwards.

As a second round pick, he would get more favorable tax treatment than a non-draft pick. That could possibly help with the timing of some of these moves. But not by much.

It would be nice to get a status report on Vincent Edwards and how he has been progressing this year for the Vipers. Really havent heard much from him, tbh.

For the risk management, I would sign House and Vincent Edwards. No need to use Edwards at all.

    Dude why don't you STFU?
Get the **** out if you're so MAD at the Rockets: grow some balls.
If you want to keep watching the Rockets, admit to yourself that you like the team, and then admit to yourself and all of us that you enjoy the team.
If the Rockets are making you unhappy, GTFO moron. What are you stupid? Duh.

Looking at his G-League stats, it seems that Edwards has had a very “meh” season thus far. He’s doing a little bit of everything, but his shooting percentages are bad across the board, and he’s not doing any one thing well enough to make him stand out.

If I’m the Rockets, I’m either going to (A) keep him on that two-way contract and just offer him another two-way deal for next season, (B) possibly wait until the summer to offer him a minimum deal to minimize 2019-20 luxury tax, or (C) cut ties with him altogether if they have enough better options available.

That said, I’m still rooting for the guy and want to see a little more of him over the coming weeks, when the Rockets will probably need him on the NBA roster to fill out their temporarily depleted (deep) bench. At his best, I think he can be a capable “Jack-of-all-trades” forward off the bench in a switching system.

Yeah, if he doesn't have some key advantages that make him stand out, it is going to be tough to get rotation playing time in the NBA.

Man, I feel sorry for Clint Capela.

Dude took less money in the offseason than he wanted and now he's getting nickeled and dimed out of incentives he should easily earn.

Chris Paul should be the one with "incentives" in his behemoth contract. Play only 50 games per season, okay you lose $10 million dollars. There that should solve all he luxury tax issues.

Paul only needs 1 million pay cut this year.
Capela hit 63% FT as of now. If he improves to 65%, he gets bonus.
I will be "heart attack" to watch his every FT attempts.

The best idea from me in July:

Use 9.3 million dollars to sign a qualified starter. Let Shumpert and all of the buyout players go for nothing.

Paul is much more established as a player to do that...... sounds logical though.
