I think the main reason why House hasn’t been signed is because Houston is trying to stay under the lux tax. According to Bima and Ben every move made today was to get under the lux tax, signing House won’t happen until at least March 1st and even than will probably only get another 2-way deal. Realistic buyout options are Markeiff Morris. Wayne Ellington sounds nice but we already have Green that does very similar things. I think if House is really going to be brought back than I see Houston not going after anymore guards or forwards unless that player is Morris.
I agree now . Which is even worse hahaha . I thought we were waiting to see what would be the better use of our MLE . Now I think we aren't gonna use the MLE
My point exactly. The MLE will definitely not be used this year especially since Houston dug so deep into their draft picks to do so. With all that said, Tilman has backed himself into a corner. The point of cutting salaries and falling behind the lux tax is so that they don’t have to pay the repeater tax once CP and Harden are in their final years. However, if Tilman goes into next season without signing any significant big name or middle of the pack players than I as a fan would start to panic. I’ve said it a million times, Tilman is a cheap owner and no one listened. I’ve worked for the guy and he’s not a very fun person to be around. Maybe he’s different as an NBA owner but based on the moves they made today and how next season goes I doubt I’ll be proven wrong.
What? Granted there are some players with some question marks due to injury, etc. but aren't Robin Lopez, Markieff Morris, Wayne Ellington already free agents? Those are very solid vets. Not to mention that Wilson Chandler and others could be bought out soon.
He's on a 2 way deal now though. Once the GLeague season is over he can be brought back up and play in the NBA on his 2 way deal still and then we can tender him next year on that same 2 way deal with a $50k guarantee. Just started a thread about this subject. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/danuel-house-is-playing-a-dangerous-game.296384/
Years ago I interviewed at their post oak location for a position and the IT position turned out to be a very .low paying job for the responsibilities
Ok I see what you are talking about. I dismissed that since MDA said he wouldn’t do that and he wouldn’t be playoff eligible. I’ll jump over to your new thread.
House was waived when Gary Clark signed his contract so yes he can sign another 2-way contract. Any player on a 2-way who is waived by their team is eligable for another 2-way contract.
I don't think House was waived. He just reached his 45-day max that he could play or practice with the Rox on that 2-way, so they reassigned him to RGV. Technically, he's still on that 2-way contract. That's why nobody else can just claim him off of waivers and sign him.
I think ROXon got something mixed up. In the beginning of the season. Clark was on 2-way contract. Because of all the injuries. House was signed to play. 15th player on our roster. Clark played well enough Morey decided to sign him to 3 years deal. To make room to sign Clark, we had to open a roster spot. Hence waive House. Since our roster is full after signing Clark. House is then re-signed for 2-way contract. Then his 45-days with the team is up and assign back to G-League blah blah blah.
Knicks said they won't buyout DeAndre or Matthews unless they request it. Matthews did and now waiting to join Pacers. I guess DeAndre never ask for buyout.
