every year the 'fanboys' have their lists of hot commodities who they think we are gonna go get... every year I try to explain its a business and we're gonna be making business moves... every year the fanboys are left distraught and in disbelief...
Valuable bench piece in James Ennis? Hah, whoever wrote that doesn't watch Rockets games...Not hating on Ennis, he seems like a good guy, but he was pretty mediocre with us. Valuable he wasn't...
I hope you're right. Harden is a BEAST this year. It is so much fun to watch him. I always think back to Wade going crazy for his first Heat championship and leveling up and dominating against a better team. I could see Harden maybe doing that, but Cousins can be a game changer. His passing, his handles and his shooting. It is just so much all-star talent to overcome. Would be a dream season to take them down when we are still the underdog this year, but I think if we're healthy next year the Warriors peak is over and it will be our turn!
That's RIGHT. And Clint is a BIG part of our rim protection/alley-oop option in the lane. Our big 3 are like a 3 legged stool. Take 1 leg away and it just doesn't function same (although we managed okay without CP when we had that 10-2 run, then Clint went down) Right now we're still missing one of our key pieces. Everyone here is panicking like "Morey DO SOMETHING. We're a .500 team". AS CONSTRUCTED we are NOT a .500 team. We're missing that 3rd leg that will be back soon. Doesn't make sense to blow up the whole team while we wait for a guy to recover from injury. He'll be back. Just gonna have to hold down the fort until then. That's how new heroes are made. In the meantime. . . . we got the MVP
More trade grades... https://bleacherreport.com/articles...y-deal-at-the-2019-nba-trade-deadline#slide10 C+. C- and B+
He also patted the Cavs on the back for adding "a still-young Marquese Chriss." Chriss being young means only one thing: He has many more years of SUCK ahead of him.
He pulled out a cigarette, and asked Elton Brand for some advice. He said you got to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to buy them out, and know when to trade and run. You never count your bench players while your'e in the regular season. they'll be plenty time for signing, when the season's done.
Rockets don't need to totally depend on Capela though. Too much dependance on certain guys on the teams. F'd us last year in the playoffs.
When you say the fans deserve better what did you expect? We were given a 65 win team last year and our owner/GM brought back most of the core. The biggest lost was Ariza. Who else was a huge loss? Luc, the guy that's only played 4 games this year? Ryno? Tarik Black? Stating that fans deserve better implies that the organization has been ran like a joke in the same lines as the Wizards, the Bulls, etc because those fans have truly suffered because of gross incompetence. If these "fans" that really feel they deserve better than what we've seen over the past few seasons from the Rockets then yea I'll say it again, the easiest thing is for them to find another team to support that can give them what they "deserve"
Yeah, this guy (the writer) with Sportsnaut/Yardbarker seems like quite the expert. https://www.linkedin.com/in/vincent-frank-22008753/
Well, we're dependent upon our big guy, yes. That's a fact. He brings tangible skills and compliments James' game. He's Robin to James' Batman with the P&R and alley oop and rim protection. So, he's a key part of the team. So what? NOT every player is completely interchangeable without loss of effectiveness. Does OKC rely on Steven Adams? Miami on Whiteside? Denver on Jokic? Porland and Nurkic? The list goes on and on. There's nothing wrong with admitting that Clint is a KEY piece of our formula and our BIG 3 when they are healthy and playing together are a potent trio (90% winning percentage together last season)
Love that we ducked the TAX and now will be able to pay it for the next couple of years with ease..and not worry about the repeaters tax The Rockets as constructed, with health, are a legitimate threat to win it all, thats why these series of trades make me feel even better about all of this. Good job Morely!
