There's a good chance we could be under the luxury tax threshold next year if Tilman wants to save even more money.

We only have Harden, CP3, EG, Capela, Nene, and Tucker under contract with Clark and Hartenstein (minimums). That's like ~6M left to sign minimum players and then the MLE.

Are you guys sure that it wasn't just that we didn't have assets to trade or a deal good enough out there to be worth a trade so we put ourselves in the position to play the buy out market that is still to come?

We never use our MLE .
Avoid the LT was the plan from the start

Meh I don’t wanna hear all that. Why couldn’t we trade Chriss, Knight and Ennis for Anthony Davis! Morey sucks!!!

The plan is to avoid the repeater tax. To do that, you got to get under the luxury tax one of the next three years. It's useful to avoid it this year because Harden's supermax kicks in next year.

You forgot Rivers. I assume he’s gonna play considering he’s playing soo many minutes now.

I get the “cheap Tilman” frustration but to be fair didn’t he literally make an offer for Butler a few months ago? That would have been LT territory had it gone through.

Faried at the 4 is a joke right?

I was expecting the Rockets to GO FOR IT.
    "MAXIMIZE Harden's & CP3's prime"
    "INCREASE the RISK PROFILE"
    "CLOSE the gap"

All the things Morey said he would do.

Agreed. This should have traded our end of the bench guys for Davis. The Pels can’t wait to get our trash and low draft picks.

I understand that most of you people aren't smart enough to comprehend that we don't have anything to offer to the Pelicans

What? Send Chris Paul back to them?

o, is there a better time for another hungry and NOT cheap franchise to swoop in and offer Morey a GM job?

If Morey doesn't feel supported, I can see it happening.

The league is dead if Lakers or Knicks swoop him up.

this is all just a bunch of apologist bullshit for the organization that clearly isn't doing enough to win now ...which was supposed to be the strategy when we signed an old guy for $40 mil a year to be a cheerleader in street clothes.

    I hate this season!

A lot of people are going to REALLY be surprised with this team after the Shump addition. Especially if we can bring back House and of course everyone gets healthy. I don't think it will be all doom and gloom like many say. Can we beat GSW, OKC, Portland? Probably not but I don't think we would get killed.

FYI I didn't list Denver because I feel like we are a matchup nightmare for them
