    Or....
    ***cue conspiracy theory music***
This was just the plan all along and the Tillman video and other leaks were just to make us think otherwise.

    Exactly.

Even this team, 99 times out of 100, will not go 0-22 from 3 point range in this year's playoffs.

Health is critical, so hopefully we don't push our injury prone guys as much as last year just to gain an edge in playoff seeding. A healthy CP and this team wins either here at TC or at Oracle Arena. I'm hoping we find a couple good buyout candidates to shore up our wing and C depth. Other than that we're as good as we were last season... quite possibly, dare I say?..... Better........

@Codman confirmed Miami and Memphis went back on their deals. @KellyUnchained wrote about the deal with Memphis they didn't fulfill.

The conspiracy some GM's are sabotaging the Rockets is true.

We dumped a bunch of guys who sucked. I'm not complaining about it. Yes we should have never had those dudes but it is what it is.

RocKets GM Daryl Morey said moves today were "to create the flexibility to be able to play the buyout market, open a roster spot and create flexibility now and down the road." per @Jonathan_Feigen

I won't be disappointed as long as House is returned to his rightful spot as starting SF.

I'm ok with this deadline. Shumpert helps, House is probably coming back in a few weeks to save money on his deal to stay under luxury tax treshold, buyout candidates are ok, and our roster will be much better when Capela is back. Honestly, I think with the SOS left and health, we will close the regular season very strong.

Rockets didn't get anybody good....Harden is in his prime and Chris Paul is old. Rockets should be going all in!! Raptors, SIxers, Gms are trying to win now!!

That's funny, pretty sure one of the best teams in the NBA acquired Ennis from us. So I would say that team wanted him. And the Rockets didn't have to attach any picks to "get rid of him".

The Rockets have the second best shot in the NBA of winning the title this season. That was the case before the season started and is still the case.

The Rockets are also a better and deeper team now, than they were on December 23. They have so far added 3 rotation pieces and are likely to add another.

You are not, but I think that a lot of fans had really unrealistic expectations. Yesterday I said that the best case scenario for the Rockets was to get Green/Temple. The Rockets didn't get that, but they still improved adding Shumpert. The other players they moved were not going to be in the rotation. So overall it was a solid deadline under the circumstances.

Of Shumpert, Morey said "We've been targeting him as someone who fits really well with James and Chris, a guy who is a high-level spot shooter from distance and (strong) defender who has played in The Finals multiple times and won the championship." per @Jonathan_Feigen

The Sixers added him to replace Brewer's spot. He is not in the rotation in Philly. He did not have playing time in Houston and isn't going to be missed.

The biggest problem of the Harden Era is, Harden was too good, too fast.

Most teams who built their contending teams through the draft, either drafted their superstar or drafted their core through the draft. so they were able to build around their best player / best players on rookie deals.

It's like people forget the Rockets haven't been terrible in almost 2 decades. The last time the Rockets had less than 30 wins was 2001-2002. and we got Yao Ming with the 1st overall pick after that.

Teams like the Sixers sucked for yearsssssssssssssssss, horded so many lottery picks, blew so many lottery picks, until they finally stumbled on a good core.

When the Rockets first got Harden, not many people expected him to be so good so fast and lead the Rockets to the playoffs every single year he's been here. When you're winning 45+ games every year, making the playoffs every year, the only way you can really build your team is through free agency. overpaying vets, and cap friendly contracts.

Harden didn't get the benefit of losing badly for 3-4 seasons and stacking up high lottery picks.

You see the struggle Lebron teams have had because of consistent playoff success, and the only way he improves his situation is by colluding with other stars or going to teams with an already established franchise player.

For Harden it's just an unfortunate situation for a first-ballot hall-of-fame player which his detractors will hold against him for not winning a championship without acknowledging all of that.

    LOL
So owners are only willing to help Tillman save money but not help him help them save money?
