So he should spend millions unnecessarily just to lose to this joke in Golden State? I’ll believe he’s cheap when it matters and he cuts bait to save money.
so you make an interesting point here. harden could have very easily called it a night a few weeks ago in oakland. depleted roster, down 17, refs letting warrier players dribble outta bounds. i'm glad harden isn't a sorry ass b**** like tilman.
There will always be a super team that looks unbeatable. How will Rockets expect to sell tickets when all they did was get under lux.tax, and wait for buy outs? Do you think they can get somebody in July that will help them beat Warriors. Toronto, Bucks, Boston etc. OKC is in lux. tax territory. At least they are trying. I will watch Rockets on the Tv, but I refuse to spent money on a team that doesn't take a chance. Good luck with beating Golden State with you buy out players.
They'll still be $12,891,608 over the cap with only 8 players accounting for a total of $121,768,867. That leaves 7 roster spots , one MLE to work with and no other avenues to exceed the cap that aren't early bird or veterans minimum contracts.
Very good point. There is always going to be one or two teams that are considered super stacked and unbeatable. That's can't possibly be used as an excuse to not take a chance and spend a little more. Houston just has a cheap ass owner, it's time to come to terms with it.
Cash considerations leading us to the finals. Morey is finally freed of Ryan Anderson's cursed contract! Now he just has to worry about CP3's!
When else is it going to matter !? There are gonna be good teams every year . If you want him to pay only when we have by far the best team on paper ... then he might pay once every 40 years . You could mitigate damage in the future.. you got the ****ing MVP playing as well as anyone has played in decades man ! You've got an aging Paul ... not like that's gonna be better in the future . Sure GS is monstrous . Of course the easy strategy is to give up . We took a shot last year . Anything can happen .
And what if there was a restriction that said if harden did finish that game he could not play in the next five, Do you think he would’ve finished it?
Really seems that way bro. People worried about the PR fallout surrounding Morey's "genius", you think?
idk, this years free agent and trade targets weren't even that gud for us to blow our load and get hit with luxury tax . With our limited assets and the anchor of Anderson's contract, I'm surprise we got out as well as we did. Morey did swing for Butler and failed, and to be realistic no way in hell were we gonna get Davis with the sht we had to offer. Other than that there wasn't really anyone to go for that would make us say "Splash!!!". We got under and maybe in year we can curse the owner if he's still trying to save money.
Don't u forget Anderson had to reconstruct his contact to make it even more palatable for the Suns. If we still had anderson, I bet we would still struggle to move him.
Wait... We aren't in the luxury tax anymore? So we moved to like the middle of the pack of the most costly teams or are you still up there at the top?
Good news is that the majority of big moves were made out East, while the Clippers, Kings, Lakers, Blazers and Jazz have either taken a hit or not improved their situation. As it stands, fully healthy we're still the team with the best chance to beat GSW in the west. Denver isn't scaring anyone, OKC will be better this season but I'm interested to see if Russ is willing to play #2 in the playoffs. We have a good shot at being the #3 seed.
