Very disappointed in our "salary dump" trade deadline.

I understand that we're saving money for Tilman this season to get under the luxury tax cap, but he better spend over the next few years if he's to convince us fans that he's not a cheapskate. Seriously.

Not in "win-now" mode. Which is absurd for a team coming off 65 wins.

Don’t start a new thread for something that could have been in 100 threads.

Relax, nobody actually wanted any of these players we traded. So much so that we had to attach picks and/or pay people to get rid of them. None of the traded players were landing us a big fish in Free agency nor were they gonna improve our team in any way. The fact that we were able to cut lose the dead weight, get under the luxury tax, add Rivers, Shumpert and Faried, and still be players in the buyout market is a testament to Morey.

And likely still other players to add.

We got rid of the garbage (that should have never been collected in one garbage bag in the first place) but still we got rid of the garbage.

Didn’t we drop players every hated, finally moved off Anderson’s contract, and added a veteran wing who played against the Warriors in 3 NBA Finals?

nah the logic is once they're traded, they become useful, good, and bad moves

Ben Dubose made a good writeup about how these moves got us under the luxury tax and that's important heading into the Harden super-max years.

I would also add it looks likely Kevin Durant is out and our squad today is better than a KD-less Warriors... will it be the same way next year? We will see.

What’s wrong with saving money if your still adding rotational upgrades?

And giving CP3 40 mil/yr and Capela 15 mil/yr isn’t cheap and takes away lots of spending flexibility

I don’t care about the next couple of years. Harden is historic right now. Tillman is garbage

We've got Faried and Shump and dumped a bunch of players we don't even use
Don't forget we picked up Austin Rivers

What do the delusional fans want? Anthony Davis?

    Not going to happen.

We got CP3 and Harden to ride with.
The most important thing is for CP3 to get healthy and Harden to not get tired by the playoffs.

It's not like Les Alexander wasn't avoiding the luxury tax

I wanna copy and paste this for everyone that has b****ed and whined (or will) about not netting a big fish.

It was highly unlikely to happen and it didn't. Get over it people.

Unless you have 2-3 stars who are young and cheap, any particular team construction will only have a window of 1-2 years. Last year's team as constructed only had 1 year, and everyone knew it. On top of that, honestly it overachieved.

I think those disappointed aren't because of the players that got traded away as much as the players they didn't trade for

Yo-yo had an excellent post yesterday explaining how keeping Ryno could have landed us Tyler Johnson or Wayne Ellington. Search it.

Tilman wouldn't have had anything to do with it. Morey would be lining the team up for future years and moves

    Tillman is not a cheapskate

Only positive thing is that the West didn't get better. But now we are thin without any room for injures. The buyout market better help us.
